The Darker Side of the Touken Ranbu Fandom: The Black Citadel Phenomenon

When I first started delving into Touken Ranbu fanworks, there was a tag on pixiv that caught my eye, and the tag was “ブラック本丸” (“black honmaru”). My curiosity was piqued and as I explored the fanworks in this tag, I was soon drawn into a phenomenon that explored the darker aspects of Touken Ranbu.

It is a phenomenon that I’ve termed in this post as the Black Citadel Phenomenon.
