How do you think the identity reaveal could go? And not only for Paperinik, but a general reveal for all of Donald's personas at once?

It would send all of the communities reeling.

The spies? Oh shit we have to protect this man who has a lot of vital info and is now the biggest target for all the baddies

The superheros? Can I have your autograph- wait no we can do this after I stop the villains trying to kidnap you Mr. PK, sir.

The magical community? Please give a seminar or a talk or something at our schools Mr. Duck it would mean a lot to the children and also us please teach us how to-

Donald would be taken into protective custody so fast meanwhile his family is high key in the Egyptian River of Denial. No way is Donald all those things, no- everyone is just confused- right Donald? DONALD????

And Donald has been blue-screening since he was outed. Does he take his family and run? What does he deal with first, the assassins or the supervillains? Uno, help!

It's so funny the fact that Donald is considered the "boring uncle" when he's:

A superhero (most likely the first one)

A super spy

A Caballero

One of the strongest mages

A single parent/uncle

The nephew of the richest duck in the world

A war hero

I want the rest of the Duck Family to discover this

What's really funny to me is everyone else knowing except the family. Consider:

-Magica finding out Donald's skills and subsequently only attacking when Donald isn't around/preoccupied

-Major villains recognizing Donald's face from leaked Agency files and making plans that have to focus on distracting him. Donald gets a couple spontaneous bouts of good luck that is less luck and more Steelbeak trying to get Donald out of the country for a week by paying for a vacation on the beach.

-Time traveling villains giving the duck/mcduck family a wide berth when causing problems. With the mcduck family's only encounter with time-travel being their own.

-Veterans saluting him when they recognize him and thanking him for his work while the family is off on an adventure.

-Even supernatural beings know they have to distract Donald if they want to mess with Scrooge or the kids.

No one in his family connects the dots. Scrooge thinks SHUSH wants him as an consultant for his accomplishments and yeah, they do, but the connection to Double Duck is the real redacted reason.

A good 70% of the people Scrooge works with are actually secretly there to set up good relations with Donald through his uncle and kids. They think Donald is shy and humble so they sing their praises of Scrooge, Della, and the kids while the lucky few that aren't part of the distraction get the chance to pull Donald aside to ask for an autograph or photo.

Intergalactic governments think Scrooge is Donald's spokesman. (Uno changes the translations so instead of a business deal to try and get the aliens' gold, its a very diplomatic and friendly greeting.) So they talk with Scrooge and do their dealings with him instead of Donald.

Just, the whole world singing Donald's praises and respect, while the family goes about their lives thinking Donald is a scaredy cat and a clumsy but loving Uncle.

So I know you're not super active anymore but I had a chilling fun thought. Bradford Buzzard was was stealing/locking up EVERYTHING connected to adventures, yeah?

Like maybe Xandra's book?

Locking away the very goddess of adventure herself would fit his MO

You're right and you should say it. He would have put her in a super locked up box on top of everything else because she's the goddess of adventure and therefore extremely dangerous.

Huey finds her and Donald is horrified.

Donald thought Panchito had the book, Panchito thought Zé had the book, and Zé thought Donald had the book. They're all so upset when they find out "WE LOST OUR FRIEND HOW COULD WE DO THIS?!" and Xandra was chilling in the book the entire time, delighted to see her friends again and catch up on everything. She was mad at first when they told her they lost her but they came up with a solution so they wouldn't lose her again and all was forgiven.

[The solution was to have bi-monthly adventures]

Hey! For Donald’s ghost AU do the boys know HOW he died? Like i feel that’ll be something he’d keep from them like “an accident” or “maybe I’ll tell you another time” until they find out it’s actually from one of Scrooge’s dangerous adventures. One of Scrooge’s dangerous adventures where he dies. Would they be mad at Scrooge? I mean 13s a young age! Would the boys ever suddently think about it cause now…it’s like they Suddently died. They found out when they were kids so they never thought about

Donald didn't really talk to them about it so much as wait with baited breath for them to start asking, but the boys have known him like this their whole lives. Sure, they know he's a little different but that's just Uncle Donald.

Its not until they start watching shows and movies with ghosts in them that they start to realize that he's one of them. Even then it doesn't sink in that Donald died. Kids don't really get that so HDL found out he was a ghost and then left him alone about it for a long time. Donald ofc was waiting for more questions but they never came.

Then Max's Mom died and the conversations had to be had.

"No, Mrs. Goof isn't a ghost now, not like Uncle Donald."

"No, we won't see her again."

"Huey...she isn't too tired, she- she just isn't coming back."

"It's not that she went away, Dewey, not on purpose."

"Oh, Louie, no, Uncle Donald is never going to leave you, not if he can help it."

"Your parents...I...I'm an exception, not a standard. I'm not normal."

So there's a maximum of two conversations Donald has before going back to the Manor. One confirming he is a ghost and another clarifying that he's...an outlier. But never how, none of them ask, not even the ever curious Huey. Mostly because they read somewhere that asking ghosts how they died is rude and makes them angry. Uncle Donald uses up a lot of energy when he's truly angry so they avoid it so he won't disappear.

Its not until the confrontation about Della's disappearance that Louie makes the connection while Dewey yells at Scrooge. Louie keeps it to himself, already scared from watching his family argue and tear itself apart. He just wants the fighting to stop and keeps his epiphany a secret.

Until Gladstone finds out. His Lucky Uncle who only ever got slightly nervous even in the most dire situations. The other half of his Green Team who would wink at him and say with utmost certainty that everything would be fine no matter what because he has luck on his side and lady luck would never let anything happen to Gladstone's loved ones while he was around.

His idol, who is breaking down because lady luck didn't protect the people he cared about. He watches Gladstone get angry and Louie has never seen him so mad as he chucks his wallet and diamond jewlery into the ocean, screaming that his parents should have been enough payment - that she wasn't allowed to have his cousins too. Mom was enough, Dad was enough, Della was enough, why Donald? Why, even for all his luck, could he not have the one thing he wanted more than all the money his luck could give him?

"Uncle Scrooge doesn't believe in luck." Louie whispers quietly when Gladstone has finally exhausted himself into sitting solemnly by the water, tear tracks still drying on his face.

Maybe its the comraderie he feels towards his equally lazy cousin, maybe he's still mad about Della, maybe he's still scared Uncle Donald will vanish one day and not ever reappear - whatever it is, he tells Gladstone what he didn't tell his brothers.

"I think he died on an adventure...like Mom."

Gladstone stiffens beside the little green duckling curled up next to him.

"I'm scared." He whimpers and the Goose wraps an arm around his tiny frame and pulls him protectively close.

Gladstone thinks 'Donald was scared too' and there are no amount of words he can say to convey all the little ways a younger Donald has hid his fear.

Scrooge finally finds them with the other ducklings in tow and he's faced down a lot of things, but an angry goose of a Gander? There are few things scarier.

Bruh. I just realized why all of us are in the DonUno boat. It’s cause Uno if he could’ve had a body and wasn’t shut down, he would’ve chased after Donald. He would’ve followed him. He would respect whatever decision Donald made to leave Paperinik behind, but he would’ve followed. Uno wouldn’t have left him alone. They’re a team. Uno literally respects Donald’s decisions, but would follow him. That’s my theory on why we like them so much? Thoughts?

Its the loyalty and devotion and genuine respect where Donald gets so little of that that's just...gosh I love it. The strangers to friends to best friends gets me every single time, and then they call each other partner and the sheer amount of raw trust between them that they can do anything if they're together...you nailed it

Have ever done an au where Oswald the Lucky Rabbit helps Donald raise the triplets because he knows how to raise children with the hundreds he has.

Felldrake and Sheldgoose are related to Gladstone on his fathers side. After they were defeated, Gladstone’s Sheldgoose magic activated. So Xandra senses that there is a Sheldgoose (Gladstone) that's very powerful and must be stopped. So she calls for the three caballeros. The family and three caballeros have no idea that Gladstone is related to Felldrake and Sheldgoose.

Pan: Alright let's kick his butt!

Donald: Can't

Zé: ?

Donald: Gladstone is family

Pan: Oh. Ok then.

Xandra: Guys????

Zé: We get it amigo, let's go home.

Xandra: ???????

Wouldnt be such a plot twist if the triplets were Donalds clones? Like Della really want her kids to be boys. And maybe Donald was drifting away from her, she decided to have something that reminded her of him. LOL

The ANGST tho-

Louie: We're not...you're not our mom?

Della: Of course I am, I carried you for months!

Dewey: I don't understand-what?

Della: Well, Donald was drifting away and I wanted something to remind me of him-

Huey: You used us to remind you of Uncle Donald?!

Louie: Did you even want us or did you want some mindless clones?!

Dewey: Uncle Donald?

Here is a lighthearted follow up - If Uno hadn't been deleted or revived in space with Ducklair. Huey, Dewey, and Louie would 100% have an Uncle Uno. Nothing else would have stopped Donald and Uno getting together. >:3c

Inserting PK into things makes it great! But me thinks it is time for a little angst >:3c I love bitter-sweet almosts so here we go. When Uno gets back from space (and Donald learns he's not dead) he learns about what has happened to Donald all the years he has been gone. Scrooge and Della, having/adpoting kids, magic, & spies the whole shebang. Even after everything, in some ways Donald is the same but in others hes very different. Uno had hoped they could pick up where they left off, that he could tell Donald how he felt but alas! & he cant bring himself to begrudge Daisy (well, maybe a bit) for getting with Donald when Uno couldn't. On Daisy's side she can see how well Donald's mysterious friend knows him (maybe even better than Pan & Zè) & how much he cares about Donald. Maybe she is even a little jealous of how easy Uno & Donald work off eachother. Like would-be HS Sweethearts who were pulled apart before they could really be together. She feels almost bad about being in between them but she loves Donald too much to give him up to anyone else. This mysterious stranger had his chance (he didn't) but at least he has his memories of he & Donald's shared past (even if thats all he'll have for centuries). Daisy can admit (at least to herself) that she is a bit jealous of their strong connection. Hope you enjoy!
