This is one of my favorite details about YOI.

The reason Victor gives Yuuri for why he left Russia to become his coach is “because of the music.” He says Yuuri creates this with his body.

Let’s rewind to the scene where Yuuri skates Victor’s “Stay Close to Me” routine. The one that inspired Victor to come to Japan.

What’s interesting to me is that Yuuri is skating without music. We hear it in the episode because it’s playing in the arena where Victor is, and the scenes are overlaid.

But where Yuuri is, it’s silent.

Yuko recognizes the routine because she’s seen it before. Not because Yuuri put on music. She recognizes the first pose.
