We’re back :D Natascha and I, two members from backpain games, have created another interactive fiction game. check it out if you want.

Backwater Creek is a game about the most boring town, where nothing ever happens. You play as Tucker, an angsty teenager, taking a gap year, working at the local pharmacy until he starts community college the next year. Recently Tucker has found himself a bit stuck in a loop. He's not sure what set it off and since it doesn't make his life anymore bearable, he doesn't care to find out.

Backwater Creek is a multilinear game, focused on storytelling. The text is accompanied by illustrations.  This game contains NSFW themes, though nothing too explicit.

Name: Guy?

Pronouns: He/Him

Occupation: Corpse

After the recent heely boom he had to close his skater shop, and became homeless soon after. Loitering around the heely park, he loved to smoke weed and talk about a special place up in the forest.

Pronouns: He/Him

Occupation: Disaster

God has let Al live another day and he’s about to make it everyone’s problem. This moody, attention seeking disaster, somehow ended up being your friend, and now your stuck. Forever.

Al cares. He cares almost too much, mostly about hiding that he cares.

Pronouns: She/Her

Occupation: Badass

Carla will make sure you stay hydrated, while carrying a body through the woods. Uses humour as a coping mechanism. She’s definitely carrying the whole group on her back. If you do make it out without being caught, it will be thanks to her.

Occupation: Himbo

With a heart of gold and a brain of nothing, Brad is the ideal friend.

He also believes in just about every conspiracy, you’ve never heard of. Brad dreams of being an influential activist, to bring about the change the world desperately needs. Like saving whales, or was it wales?

Name: Thonh

Pronouns: He/Him

Occupation: Bastard / Student

Thonh is the guy you’ll be playing. He’s an exchange student from Vietnam who has just finished his last year of school and is ready to heely and feely with his friends. He was supposed to be the last brain cell of the group, but turned out to be a mess, just like all the others.

You get to decide if you want to play him somewhat nice or if you want to go full bastard.

Heels ‘n Feels is a queer, kinda furry visual novel with mini games about the perils of heelying to close to the sun. If you know that heelys are way cooler than skateboards and love to read a shit-ton of dialogue, then this games is for you!

This game was created by 18 game design students in two weeks for one of our class modules. The art style and music was partially inspired by a mix of all things 80s and 2000s.

The game takes place in a somewhat bastardized mix of the UK and USA, mainly inspired by TV shows. We’re from neither one of these places so it most definitely is highly inaccurate.

Enter a world of chaos and confusion while trying to get rid of a corpse, that might kind of be your fault. But do try to bond with your friends as well, before you all have to go your separate ways.
