𝐇𝐄  𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑  𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇𝐓  𝐇𝐄'𝐃  𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐃  𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅  𝐈𝐍  𝐋𝐎𝐔𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐀𝐍𝐀.    sure,    it’s  a  place  he’s  always  wanted  to  visit,    and  sure,    it’s  not  terribly  far  from  tennessee—    he’s  just  never  gotten  around  to  visiting.    he’s  never  really  gotten  around  to    vacation    in  the  first  place,    with  the  auto  shop  and  whatnot.    but  when  penny  said  some  friends  needed  help,    he  couldn’t  turn  her  down—    not  after  all  they’ve  been  through.

it’s  not  surprising  when,    as  soon  as  they  arrive,    penny  takes  off  and  all  but    abandons    him.    so  the  first  thing  he  does  is  look  for  somebody  who  looks  like  they’re  in  charge—    the  woman  with  the  clipboard?    that’s  gotta  be  the  boss  around  here.    toolbox  in-hand,    he  approaches  her,    an  almost    sheepish    smile  tugging  at  the  corner  of  his  mouth.    he  really  has  no  idea  where  to  start.    ❝  you  look  like  someone  who  knows  what  she’s  doin’,  ❞    he  greets  her,    hand  scratching  awkwardly  at  the  back  of  his  neck.    ❝  my  sister  said  y'all  could  use  some  help.  ❞

no matter how many times sarah tells anyone that she can handle things, they always manage to find a way to help in the end. including penny, who was one of her very best friends. practically family at this point. sarah didn’t know what it meant to take a break, to settle down for more than five minutes. how could she? but, how could she turn down a few extra hands either? besides, whether she said no or not, penny would still come barging in with help. gentle gaze narrows slightly as eyes glance towards the pair as they arrive, it’s never hard to notice penny. even when she’s walking in the opposite direction. gentle laughter spills from sarah’s lips as she shifts the clipboard into her opposite hand when he approaches. “somethin’ like that. i’m sarah.” she holds out a hand towards him in greeting, gentle smile. “i think all that’s really left to do is replace the floor boards? which is admittedly taking a little longer than expected with uncle cap busy for the day.”
