Haven't done any homework or studying but I just feel really sad about life. I don't necessarily wanna cry or anything, but I just have a heavy heart and I can't exactly explain why. Honestly just wanna watch some Netflix until I fall asleep

2nd Year

So far this year hasn’t been as awful as last year. I’ve met some people on my floor and I’ve noticed that I’m a lot more comfortable with being proactive. I’ve applied for a couple health clubs on campus (Side rant: okay why does it need to be so damn difficult to want to be involved with organizations on campus and to help people? Like you shouldn’t reject people that want to help others just saying). I’m also thinking about joining a Chinese American Association to meet new people. Look at me putting myself out there (and getting rejected by clubs... so bitter).

Netflix and cry

This all still feels like one big nightmare, and I’m still pinching myself hoping that it isn’t real. The past year has been really tough for me, but losing Bella doesn’t even compare. 

The day we adopted her was probably the happiest moment in my life so far. We weren’t even planning on getting a dog, but in a blink of an eye, there she was lounging in the backseat of my dad’s tiny car. It took a bit to get used to the image of a dog in the backyard... our own dog! Now 7 years later I’m trying so hard to get used to not having her around. 

She was the sweetest dog I ever met, and we really lucked out with her. Whenever things got hard, I’d just go to the backyard and hug her tight while letting all the tears out. Whenever I felt like complaining, I knew she was always there to listen (even though she probably fell asleep like 90% of the time lol). 

I’ll never forget how she immediately started drooling at the sight of treats, or how she would fart and/or burp whenever I scolded her, or all the love she gave me. There’ll always be this feeling of emptiness, but I’m comforted by the fact that she’s in a better place now.

I love and miss you terribly, Bella.
