okay let me just say that to me that ending feels bittersweet but honestly? i think it suits this show because i cant seem to put my foot down on how else it shouldâve ended. ryeonâs and joongilâs storyline is honestly realistic (i guess to a certain extent) because their thread is severed and him acting out to defend her due to his pride etc. makes sense? heâs willing to take the hit for her not because of old feelings but because he knows he caused ryeon to act up and i guess thatâs on brand for him. honestly would have been nice to see if they have any inkling of feelings for one another (which i personally feel that they do) but iâll take it i guess :ââ)
overall, iâd give the show a 7.6/10. the show clearly intended to address real social issues, albeit falling short sometimes (i.e. the surface level pep talk when addressing suicide, no representation of getting medical help like therapy etc.), i still do think that itâs a solid effort to raise awareness especially considering how domestically mental health etc. is viewed. itâs not easy to find a good balance between moving the plotlines of the permanent characters while also juggling with the issues they want to tackle every episode. domestically, heck even regionally, coming from someone who lives in asia, mental health is still a topic that people skirt around. so i understand why the writers donât fully delve into it on a deeper level because there is still a stigma surrounding it. still, a solid effort in trying to raise awareness about it i guess.
i definitely have more on my mind about it but itâs really late and i need to sleep đ good job to everyone that worked on this show, your efforts have been fruitful!

omg this scene has so much potential for âšcommunicationâš to talk things out, after 400 years of misunderstanding, they are finally on the same page đbut no. they just made her turn around and walk out...do they not have feelings for each other anymore đ„ș

Overall wasnât a bad ending, ended w nice positive msges, like how at the end of the day, as much as itâs damn bloody tough, we are the only ones who can save ourselves. And like junwoong, we dont need cool ass grim reaper powers to help someone see a reason to live again, be kind to people, donât turn a blind eye to cries for help, even tho itâs not as easy and straightforward irl, tomorrow did make quite a good attempt at bring these msges across
i wished there were more jung-ryeon fluff tho T^T the whole jung-ryeon resolution felt so rushed, esp w 14? episodes of breadcrumbs, angst and tension build up (and marinated over the past few weeks), having just a couple of minutes to resolve 400 years of issues ainât enough man.. i get that over-emphasis on the romance aspect would bring attention away from the main point and message of the show, but my heart is dying for more jung-ryeon chemi, esp seeing how they bring out the best in each other when they shared a life together, canât we have a spin-off ep for jung-ryeon hahahaÂ
i guess itâs time to head over to ao3 to satiate my crave for fluff hahaha

Anybody else thinking since junggil was demoted to being a mere employee, he would be recruited as the new temp member of the RM team, esp since junwoong left
i rly wanted that to happen so badly T^T cue jung-ryeon working tgt with junggil at ryeonâs beck and call, interacting just as they did all those years ago, omg and imagine the reaction from his escort team and other jumadeung heads muahahahaha

Ryeon really underestimated the influence she had over Joong Gil when they were married. Despite the moments where we see Joong Gil being caring towards others, he is a very black and white thinker who has difficulty seeing the grey in things without someone there to push him and challenge him to see an alternative point of view.
Joong Gilâs mother was somewhat right when she said it was Ryeonâs fault that Joong Gil became a military officer. While Ryeon didnât force Joong Gil to do that, it was because of her that he ultimately did so. She was the one who called him out for not seeing the worth in commoners, which ultimately gave him the opportunity to see their humanity. All the events that resulted from that initial challenge was what pushed him to make the choice to become a military officer. If Joong Gil would have never met Ryeon, thereâs no way that he would have joined the military.
Because Ryeon never really understood that, of course, she wouldnât have been able to understand that the second commoners turned against her, all of Joong Gilâs loyalty towards them would have gone out the window. It makes sense why she wouldnât think that, but I do think things would have been a lot different if she would have understood the depths of devotion Joong Gil had towards her and her opinion on things.

the true tragedy of koo ryeon and park joong-gil is how they did the unforgivable and lost themselves while telling themselves that they were doing it for the one they loved.
joong-gil killed the people he swore to protect for koo ryeon.
and in turn, koo ryeon, who would have never taken her life because up until the end she never blamed herself for what she went through, ended up doing so anyway, not to escape her shame, but because she blamed herself for being the reason the one she loved turned into the person they never wanted him to be.Â
