Weekly Summary (Week Beginning 8th of May)
This week has been the final week before submission, I was able to complete my animation and it came out looking okay, overall the week has mainly been working on the animation and getting everything together for submission.

My experimentation reel, I unfortunately don’t have a lot of test animations as I worked fairly linearly.

A larger chunk of my splined. Due to the time I’ve had for this project, I ended up skipping a blocked run through, which I think was a mistake - it would have helped me get some better posing on some of this.

This is a previous attempt I forgot to post, with just the legs blocked.

My first go through of a run cycle, focusing mainly on the legs.

This image was also very useful in figuring out leg positions during the run and so on.

Another bit of visual reference, however they aren’t really shown running a whole lot.

A scene from ‘10,000 BC’, that isn’t all that useful as they move the mammoths almost as if they’re horses, going completely against the previous article.

I found this great article, which includes several videos, which basically explains how elephants don’t run as much as they walk quickly. The cycle of movement is basically the same but sped up. I found it incredibly useful for animating the mammoth.

I started looking at reference for how my mammoth should move, I looked at the closest thing - elephants. This video was kind of useful and I could emulate a basic run from it, but I looked a bit further to find something a bit more explanatory, as the constant rotation of this video made it hard to pick out all the elements.
