Background kitties [Into the Wild]

making notes for kitty-cats to pad the clans' numbers. this post has the kitties from into the wild! my notes also have what name i give them + other info. none of these are family tree/lost kits cats.

they're free for anyone to use! genders are vague unless specifically mentioned by the books [minor characters pages of the wiki]

thunderclan

the infamous tabby queen with distinctive black markings! [badgerclaw. dappletail's first kit! i've got three places she could die: windclan and shadowclan's united front to kill brokenstar, tigerstar's failed coup, or the bloodclan battle]

small tabby tom kit [parasolfang, badgerclaw's kit. half-shadowclan and named to reflect that. funny mushroom name go brrrr. dies while firestar's off rebuilding skyclan and foxes decided fourtrees was home. may make him sire a later background cat so i can shift part of a po3/oots litter to detangle the damn tree]

little gray-and-white kit [flurryheart, reshuffled to windclan bc lord they need the numbers... dies sometime at the lake, probably during avos or tbc]

fluffy gray kit [slugstrike, reshuffled to shadowclan so they actually still have a clan after brokenstar's evicted. very anti-tigerclan! somehow doesn't piss off tigerclaw and dies in tnp! either on the great journey or bc of jacques and susan.]

tiny black kit [privetpelt, formerly batkit, also badgerclaw's kit. wanders out of camp some time before yellowfang's brought to thunderclan and gets snatched by a shadowclan cat that quotes the "protect kits" part of the warrior code to keep the kit. thunderclan thinks poor batkit died. privetpelt grows up to be pro-tigerclan, up until tigerclaw imprisons the known half-clan cats. dies in either po3 or oots.]

small tortoiseshell kit [leechfang, shuffled to riverclan. pro-tigerclan, ends up anti-leopardstar after tigerclan goes to shit. throws murder accusations at cats after mistyfoot's litter is slowly picked off by riverclan's cats. ends up with a significant (to them) cross-clan relationship during/after the great journey. killed during the eclipse battle.]

riverclan + unspecified clan

black riverclan queen [cootnose. anti-tigerclan, either leechfang's mother or mentor. drowns sometime after the clans move to the lake.]

silver tabby [firfur, placed in riverclan. neutral about tigerclan and leopardstar's role afterward. has several friends and paramours across clan borders. probably dies during oots or avos]

tortoiseshell riverclan queen [commafoot. pro-tigerclan and pro-leopardstar. dies from starvation right before the great journey.]

shadowclan

huge gray tom [craneclaw. one of brokenstar's most avid supporters. believes brokenstar was doing the best for shadowclan. only likes tigerclaw bc he made blackfoot deputy as he should be! he only realizes it wasn't true after a few apprentice cycles under blackstar. dies during the drought at the beginning of oots.]

tortoiseshell warrior [martenwhisker. anti-brokenstar, but very close to cats that support him. they leave camp when brokenstar and his supporters are exiled. dies during the bloodclan battle.]

tabby warrior queen [peatstripe. pro-brokenstar, but not overly zealous. manages to avoid exile, but barely. anti-tigerclan, helps rebel and get the unknown half-clan cats away. manages to live until avos and dies from redcough.]

tabby tom [sphagnumstep, peatstripe's brother. anti-brokenstar, pro-tigerclan until stonefur's death. dies during the battle against the dark forest.]

scrawny tortoiseshell [snipefang. baby warrior, probably needed more time in the apprentice den, but brokenstar happened. she's too young to have a proper opinion on brokenstar's rule, but pro-tigerclan after tigerclaw saved the clan from starvation. also pro-mudclaw and almost dies during his failed coup.]

dawncloud's kits [lindenstep, funeralclaw yay mushrooms, newtpaw (newtface if they lived), and elfpaw (elfsong if they lived) more shroomies. (swamp and blossom can be dawncloud's newest kits if you want. swampflower and blossomfur are the names i pick.) these four are the same litter. mix and match whoever dies driving windclan out, just make sure it's two! lindenstep and funeralclaw flee shadowclan during the plague and beg to join windclan to "atone for their sins". really, they just don't want to die a horrific death. they're extra glad they left when tigerclan happens, though. one dies from a poisoned rabbit in tnp and the other dies during mudclaw's failed coup. i think it's fitting that they die in ways that reflect what they ran from.]

young shadowclan apprentice [vetchwhisker. very friendly to the other clans during gatherings, probably accidentally has half-clan kits before dying. dies during shadowclan's plague, doesn't have much time to enjoy warriorhood.]

I wish warriors had leaned more into different clans having somewhat different naming conventions. Maybe they all do -paw for apprentices, but maybe ThunderClan is strictly adherent to your kithood prefix, whereas other clans might see your prefix change each time (looking at you, nearly all-white cat name Blackfoot).

Also also liked the idea that ThunderClan for example goes for honorable or very descriptive name components, but ShadowClan goes for "badass." That's why you get names like Brokentail: yeah my tail's fucked up you should see what I do to you if you cross me.

Tallstar's Revenge suggests that Deadfoot gets his name because it will make other cats underestimate him. That would make sense as a WindClan tradition, as they are runners and burrowers much like rabbits, so they could try to aesthetically play up "oh yeah we aren't a threat.... >:3"

How did the Erins write this and NOT experience a crushing gravity of cringe scrunching them up so tightly that they became a black hole. I cannot imagine writing 6 straight books following The Settlers systemically ruining every good thing about their new home, causing a battle so bloody they had to dig a mass grave, and then unironically putting this line in the mouth of anyone who is not about to righteously burn their bloody new order to the ground or die trying.

"It's not your land, either. You took it without asking" hellooooo????? Villain has a fucking POINT?????? Why did you choose for SLASH to be the one to raise an issue that should have been present from Book 2 when Clear Sky started violently stealing land??????????

What's worse is the follow-up to it, where Wind Runner's like "no no wait audience, he's totally lying and doesn't actually have a point, because he's a SUPER foreigner who never REALLY lived here"

The Erins retcon in this whoooole evil bully group who demands tribute from the "native" cats, gives the bully group this line about The Settlers taking the land without asking, and then... forget to have those "true native" cats have input or opinions about this fact.

Outside of Milkweed, of course, who just kinda forgets her strong feelings about Clear Sky killing her friend when it's inconvenient to the plot. this arc turns me into the joker

The bulk of herbs listed will be from The Rodale Herb Book and cross-referenced with Wikipedia [and other sources across the web] while also being checked if the listed plant is a poison to cats or otherwise has any notable effect on cats, such as valerian energizing cats instead of making them drowsy.

My guide will be formatted similarly to The Rodale Herb Book and group plants by function in each post. Certain plants that can be used many different ways -- like cannabis -- may get their own post.

who is your favorite warrior cat. if you had to pick just one. canon or AU, or even OC. (⁠ㆁ⁠ω⁠ㆁ⁠)

Hm... Just one? [How about one from each category instead?]

For canon kitties... Probably pre-OotS Thistleclaw. I think he worked really well as a foil to Bluefur. He drowns his grief by working for the Clan, rather than wallowing in self-pity. He's the ideal warrior, upholding the code almost to the letter. By contrast, Bluefur's a lying traitor, breaking the code twice in quick succession.

For AU characters... Memento Vivere!Spiderleg, I think. Spiderleg's chipped down by the weight of all the death in his old home, by his failure to save his siblings, by his own weakness. Why else would he have the ability to pull cats from StarClan's hunting grounds if not to save their lives?

It's his duty to his powers, to the prophecy, that leads him to neglect his kits in favor of his niece. It's his duty to the prophecy that ruins his relationship with his entire family. Spiderleg's long since forgotten the joys of living, long since decided that being carefree -- enjoying life -- is a luxury he can't have.

And OCs? Hm... I haven't thought much about my swamp fanclans in a while, but Thunderstep! He's just a guy trying to do right, only to get manipulated time and time again and somehow ends up being voted for leader. I think he'll end up turning down the position, though. It'd be the first big choice someone brings to him that he says no to.

Intro Post

Hey there! This sideblog's a place I've made to keep my Warrior Cats AUs/fanclans in an organized place! You guys can call me Papi or Azalea if you want. [Please only use they/them for me.] Continually refer to this post when more AUs are added!

Do note that there will be dark -- or problematic if you prefer that word -- content present on this blog. I know I can't control who looks at my blog, but I will block minors on sight. Additionally, fandom drama is not welcome here. If you don't like something, please just block the tag.

My worldbuilding is free to use, while everything else, I'd prefer you only take inspiration from.

Most of my AUs are vaguely plotted out! Feel free to ask me questions to flesh them out or fill in any holes! However, please be kind when asking your questions.

Flaming Wishes: A Thistlestar and medcat Fireheart [Flamewish] AU. Features heavy themes of grooming and a naive/unreliable narrator that eventually realizes his family [Clan] life is far from normal or healthy. While Thistle/Spotted is in this AU, it's only one part of systemic issues in [Thistlestar's] ThunderClan. This AU is darker than most Warrior Cats fan content and I'd recommend avoiding it if you don't like the content.

Seeds of Secrets: A DoTC overhaul! Features the gradual fall of a kingdom thanks to an abuser being enabled to the point where things can't be salvaged. Also a mild OotS AU.

The River Flows in Us: An AU that starts with Hawkfrost and Mothwing during the events of TNP, only to follow Hawkfrost's kit's during Po3 and the plot to be lost for OotS. Hawkfrost and Mothwing take Stormfur and Feathertail's place on the prophecized journey, among other things.

Endless Sky: A Skyclan-centric AU that follows Bramble-, Tawny-, Feather-, Storm-, and Primrosepaw's escape from TigerClan and eventual part in reviving SkyClan. While the apprentice side of this AU is fairly lighthearted, sections focused on TigerClan are dark.

Memento Vivere: An AU that encompasses TNP through OotS. In this AU, the Three are kin of Ferncloud's. An overall angsty AU with a heavy focus on grief and loss.

A Flying Leaf: A HawkLeafReed AU where the three of them end up leaving the lake for the gorge. Firestar dies in the foxtrap, leading to Hawkfrost's exile, which eventually results in Hawkfrost becoming Hawkwing at the gorge and more. Po3, AVoS, OotS, and TBC are all smushed together!!!
