Trends in Adult Education
Hello everyone! Today, I want to talk about a trend in adult education that’s gaining a lot of attention: Microlearning.
What is Microlearning?
Microlearning is a method of delivering content in small, bite-sized chunks. It’s designed to be quick and easy to consume, often using mobile devices. This makes it perfect for busy adults who need to fit learning into their hectic schedules.
Implications for Teaching
Microlearning is changing how we teach adults. Because lessons are short and focused, they can be integrated into daily routines more easily than traditional classes. This method also allows for more personalized and flexible learning experiences, catering to different learning styles and needs.
Preparing for the Trend
To prepare for this trend, I plan to create more microlearning modules for my students. This means breaking down complex topics into smaller, manageable pieces and using multimedia tools to make the content engaging. I will also explore mobile platforms to deliver these lessons effectively.
Article Highlight
I found an interesting article that reviews how mobile-based microlearning has been used in higher education and workplaces. The article, "A systematic review of mobile-based microlearning in adult learner contexts" (Moore, Hwang, & Moses, 2023), highlights several key points:
Mobile devices provide flexible and innovative ways to deliver just-in-time resources.
Microlearning has been used successfully in many fields.
There is evidence of improved learner outcomes and positive perceptions of this technology.
The number of studies in 2021 suggests growing interest in microlearning for higher education and professional development.
You can read more about this in the full article- I’ve attached it in the references.
This review shows that microlearning is not just a trend but a powerful tool that can support diverse learning needs. As educators, we should embrace this method to enhance our teaching strategies and better support our students.

Trends in Mathematics Education
Hello everyone! As a math teacher, I want to share two big changes in how we teach and learn math.
Trend 1: Technology in the Classroom
Technology is making a big difference in classrooms. Digital tools and online platforms make lessons more fun and interactive. This helps students understand math better and keeps them engaged. I love using GeoGebra in my Geometry classes. You can check it out here. Here’s a link to learn the basics of using this tool (Math Giraffe, n.d.).
Using GeoGebra helps students understand concepts better and saves you time, so you can teach more in each class. This is super helpful, especially in Geometry Olympiad classes where time is always tight!
Trend 2: Real-World Applications of Math
There is a big focus on real-world applications of math. Teachers show how math is used in everyday life and different jobs. This makes math more interesting and useful for students. Check out this link to see how you can use math in everyday life (Northern Illinois University, n.d.).
Sometimes, I use casino examples in my probability classes. It’s fun! I’m not a big fan of casinos, but they are great for learning math!
Implications for Teaching
To keep up with these trends, I plan to use more technology in my lessons and show how math applies to real life. Also, I want to design more games to show my students they can have fun and use math in their daily lives.
These changes in math education are exciting. As teachers, we need to adapt to give our students the best learning experience. Stay tuned for more updates and feel free to share your thoughts!

Hi everyone, I'm Amir! I come from Iran, where I grew up loving math. Back in 2009, I scored a gold medal at the Math Olympiad championship – a real highlight for me! Later on, I went to university and earned both bachelor's and master's degrees in math.
For over a decade, I've been teaching math back in Iran. But in 2021, I made the leap to Vancouver, excited to continue teaching and maybe even do some research on how to teach math better.
Welcome to my blog! I'm here to share what I love with you. We'll chat about math, sure, but I'm also super into psychology. Stick around for some interesting articles – I promise it won't be boring!
