The End of Childhood

Ahh, I finally got a chance to draw their first encounter. This is how Alcinia hired Nathaniel to be the captain of the crew she was putting together.

Also decided to show the sketch that made me want to add color to it.

*THEIR FIRST ENCOUNTER*

A: Please, do consider informing yourself of this quest that I give you. The rewards I provide should outweigh the journey's risks.

N: ....hmm, right.

*LATER*

N: Lady Mayflower, the crew requested your presence at the- Oi! Miss, you got something on yer face wuz that bout?

A: I'm afraid you are not at liberty to ask me about that...MISTER WELDER! GET OUT OF MY CHAMBERS. NOW!

N: ...ah, yes ma'am, right away. My apologies. It won't happen again...

*NATHANIEL'S THOUGHTS*

N: Working for Alcinia is always -unpredictable. She never lets anyone touch her hands or see her without her veil. She's often mumbling to herself. I think she's hiding something from the crew and I.

Alcinia and Nathaniel comic when they were leaving with his crew for the first quest she hired them for. Of course, she decided to provide them a cleric. If only Nathaniel and him would meet on the same page.

N: And before we go, I need you to bless the ship. For the safety of myself, and most importantly my crew

C: With all due respect Mr. Welder, those are rather outdated traditions...

A: Do what he says, cleric. I'm paying you, and my client is asking you for your services. Bless the damn ship.

C: Miss Mayflower, as a cleric... my magic alone can protect the ship without a blessing. We'll waste more time...

A: ...you've already wasted my own with your resist ance. De as my associate wishes or I'll take it up with your deity myself.

C: yes, of course, Lady Mayflower.

N: The ship will sink. *Lo esta haciendo de mala gana..* these young clerics have no respect for tradition.

A: Well despite his lack of enthusiasm, he's one of the best Mayflower town clerics. So you and your crew will be fine, okay?

Translation of phrase: "hacerlo de mala gana" means to do grudgingly.

Author's note: I will definitely make another part. Also shout-out to my brother for inspiring me to make a character based off him. And for coming up with this comic strip idea.

Some doodles of little Octavia and her godmother, Alcinia. They've been close since the young girl was about four years old. Alcinia pays for Octavia's tuition and bought a whole house for her school admission so she wouldn't have to live in a "crummy apartment with little privacy" in the city.

Octavia biography

Meet Octavia, the daughter of Minerva and Constance, the miracle child. Octavia was conjured via a magical ritual where her two mothers decided to try to have a child. Octavia was born after several weeks of prayer, where she rose from the sigil created for her existence. Octavia has the sigil as a birthmark on her back, which she keeps hidden because the fear of stigma associated with magic among people who don't use it.

Octavia is 15 years old and was accepted into a prestigious school for gifted children, in which Alcinia Mayflower personally helped with her financial needs. Octavia is close with Alcinia due to being a god child of her. Octavia possesses the gift of being able to wield magic since she was four, a bit early for her age group. Octavia attended this school when she was about six years old, craving more knowledge than her mother, Minerva, could provide her. Octavia is used to travelling long distances by train, due to travelling in between the city where she studies and the countryside where she lives.

Some Octavia head canons:

- Octavia isn't much for hunting/fishing like her mother, Constance, but uses some of the animal parts for taxidermy instead in order to bond with her.

- Octavia is so shy to the point where some people think she's mute, she mostly talks with her mothers and god mother.

- Octavia bonds with her mothers when it comes to getting her hair done. Minerva likes to make long braids for Octavia, and occasionally adds buns.

- Octavia had a hard time learning to walk due to her goat legs and oversized horn that weighed her down as a child. Because of this, her mother, Constance, would make her custom crutches until she had learned to balance herself.

- Octavia has a fear of octopi, mostly because she heard they could squeeze anywhere due to being invertebrates. But also because she had a dream where she swore a octopus crawled in and out of her.

- Octavia's sigil on her back often glows when she is stressed or angry, somes it burns at the touch.

- Octavia is such a bookworm that she Nevers leaves the house without at least three books. She even includes a flashlight and pillow into her bookbag in case she needs to find a good reading spot.

- Octavia has a large collection of fancy patterned clothing due to being gifted many outfits from Alcinia. Octavia even has her own tailor which worked with her since she was a child.

Yes, Constance, yes it is. At least that's what Constance thinks when she's helping Minerva with spells. I'm happy to draw my favorite sapphic couple once again.

I'm obsessed with redesigning my one oc from forever ago, I've come a long way from my art journey. While I'm not involved with the dragon ball fandom or the group chats I used to be apart of, it still holds a special place in my heart. Hopefully I'll get to make more content on this soon.
