Made a therian symbol stamp out of an eraser!

Basically all the materials were from the dollar store so it looks bad but I like the roughness of it, makes the design look more "animalistic" and cool

So I am now seeing mostly everyone has had some sort of issue with Therian Guide forums. It makes me laugh considering about 5 years ago I had joined their forum as a young otherkin individual / therianthrope and when I expressed how I thought I was having dream shifts where I thought myself to be a wolven creature with black fur, the admins of forum & their friends (instead of educating me) proceeded to call me a fake and bullied me on my introduction post so consistently I ended up deactivating & leaving the website.

I’m not particularly well rounded when it comes to emotions as I’ve mentioned in archived posts, however as a 13 year old boy who simply wished to join a community I felt would understand & embrace the part of me that felt more wild, they were not welcoming at all.

In addition to that, when I mentioned I felt a part of me was more divine in their chatroom, they proceeded to invalidate that as well instead of asking me productive questions regarding my own sense of identity. (I no longer hold that identity, however one of my headmates does).

I ask you to please spread/reblog/repost whatever so young therianthropes & otherkin individuals will not seek validation and advice from those on Therian Guide. Please consider joining therian tumblr or therian Instagram. Rather than answering your questions, Therian Guide will invalidate you & overwhelm you with not so warm welcomes. When you are questioning your identity the last thing a young one needs is to be bullied, bombarded and alienated.

Hello! Im Axa, and this is my therian/otherkin blog. My kintypes are maned wolf and rabbits/hares.

This blog will mostly just be me talking about therian stuff, reality shifting, and some random stuff.

I am more of a psychological therian, and also veiw reality shifting in a more psychological sense. Although I am open to the spiritual side of things and might discuss that side of things time to time.

also yes i think its funny that when i say "shifting" it could mean reality shifting or kin shifting and that the only reason i put both of those on the same sideblog

I'd say I had a similar experience, I originally thought I was a fox or a wolf before realising I was a maned wolf (if you dont know what those are, they arent actually a type of wolf) and it was mostly because I resonated a lot with the red fox's fur colouring and thought that I mustve been a fox kin, but still it didn't feel right so I thought I was a wolf kin because that was the only other kind of animal that felt close to what I experienced. Then I found a few videos about the Maned Wolf and suddenly I just had this big realisation with all those experiences with foxes and wolves and why both of those felt close but wrong. Then with me being a rabbit kin it went so much easier because I knew what they were, I had helped raise some, so I was familar with how they were and I havent had much confusion with that.

Also just wanted to say before someone misunderstands what im saying, I'm not saying that all people with common kins are just confused kids, I'm saying that its okay for people to pick a common type and decide later on you felt more connected to a different less common type. Everyone goes on their own journey.

Thought after my revelation yesterday: what if a lot of alterhumans have "common" types because that's what they're familiar with, in terms of how animals go? I picked a cat, at first, because I hadn't even vaguely considered a wolverine and I was extremely familiar with cat behavior (I have two of them and have been familiar with Warrior Cats roleplay for almost a decade now).

It took me scouring a list of carnivorous mammals in Europe (all of them.) to pick out the wolverine, and I know for some people going that far is either a lot of work (especially if you don't have a location pinned down) or entirely impractical (like if you're a songbird, as there are a lot of species; dragons count here too. There isn't ever going to be a comprehensive list of every dragon type ever compiled on Wikipedia).

I'd like to hear your thoughts on this!

the maned wolf is a large canine native to south america. despite its name, they are not wolves and are actually solitary animals without a pack structure. they are also omnivorous, and play an important role in distributing fruit seeds. the maned wolf is named for its ‘mane’ of fur down its neck and back; another of their recognizable traits is their disproportionately long legs.
