We're under attack from bombs, explosives, and warplanes, and we've had to endure many nights of sleeplessness. It's a difficult situation💔, but we're trying to stay positive🖤. This war has really taken a toll on us. It's destroyed our bodies, our lives, and our souls. It has been so sad to see our homes destroyed, our belongings taken from us, and our beautiful places ruined. It has also changed our situation for the worse. We were living a pretty good life, you know? Peaceful, loving, and full of life. But then, we found ourselves in a really tough spot. Hunger, fear, and terror have become our new normal. My kids and I, along with my extended family, are struggling to make ends meet. We don't have the basic necessities of life, and our living situation is pretty rough. We're in these old, falling-apart tents. It's so hard to know what to do when winter comes. We'll be soaked in the rain and wind, and I'll be at a loss as to how to keep my family safe, from the bombing and from the winter.🥹

The sea is behind us, the weather is freezing, and the borders are closed with Egypt on the other side and Israel on the third and fourth sides. I found myself making a tent out of nylon for myself and my family.

No water, no electricity, no food, no place to go to the bathroom, no life. I wish I had died sooner.

There is currently a strike for Palestine taking place from February 18th, 2024, to February 25th, 2024. During this time, I will only be posting about Palestine on this account and doing what I can to spread awareness. If you are able, I highly recommend participating in the strike in whatever way you are able - something is always better than nothing. I truly don't like how people talk about Kinkajou on the internet like her not being irreparably damaged by her trauma forever makes her "uninteresting" or a badly written character. Being cheery and optimistic in the face of strife, despite clearly holding a self-awareness about her previous trauma as shown in how she thinks during Moon Rising, is what MAKES her interesting. It was also not a repeated trauma she endured throughout most of her childhood, it was a singular, absolutely terrible event that happened to her but which she had a support system coming out of in the form of Glory. I am not trying to diminish Kinkajou's trauma but the fact that she had anyone to support her through the worst events of her life makes it a ton more logical that her personality would be less effected by it than the rest of her winglet, who all experienced traumas like abuse or neglect that was on-going and largely for the ENTIRETY of their lives up to the point of attending Jade Mountain. I think sometimes people forget that not seeing a POV of a character does not immediately erase the internal logic that their character functions by. It's like when people claim Clay gets flanderized post Book 1-He doesn't, nothing about his writing changes, your perspective of him is just inherently limited because you are reading about what Other Characters Think of Him. It's the strongest element of Tui's characterization in her POVs but I think it leads to a lot of misjudgement about characters books outside of their own. Even though we aren't getting a Kinkajou book, I'd love one just so I could stop feeling crazy about already thinking she's a fully three-dimensional character while everyone else seems to think she's flat as a piece of cardboard.

Save My Brother Samer’s Life 🚨

If you scroll past this, you are ignoring a life that can be saved.

I’m writing as a brother watching Samer struggle for survival. His health has deteriorated to the point of falling into a coma, and we are unable to provide him with the necessary treatment. 💔

Samer suffers from bipolar disorder, and his stability relied on daily medications including LeponeX (Clozapine), Depalept Chrono (Sodium Valproate), and Lithium CO3 (Lithium Carbonate). These medications helped stabilize him, but without them, his health has worsened significantly. Every moment is crucial, and the pain and worry are relentless. 😞

There is no place for my brother in the hospital, and we cannot secure the treatment he needs. Imagine being unable to help your own brother as he struggles, without a way to provide the medicine he needs to recover.

Your donation could be the only hope to bring Samer back to life, giving him a chance to heal and come back to us. 🙏
