Being a good ally means not cringe-shaming transfems. like I get it. she's wearing cheap clothes from Amazon. she's posting the stereotypical reddit memes about programmer socks and blåhaj and monster energy. Whatever. It's fucking second puberty. You were awkward at your first. She's exploring her gender later in life than a cis girl would. It's being a teenager again but everyone shames you even worse for not being grown up already, because you've passed the arbitrary gate of "adult", as if your own actualized personhood can be acquired that fast. Convincing and shaming her like she's the problem for being "cringe" or "reddit" or "stereotypical" doesn't help her actualize that self at all. It's the same shame society forces on teenage girls except it's "justified" either for reasons of pure transmisogyny or because she "should be acting like an adult", as if our childhoods, our girl's experiences, our girlhood, are not routinely and cruelly denied. What sense does it make to stifle someone who was not allowed to grow previously? Who does that help? Notice this behavior in yourself and others and correct it.

obsessed with mass market paperbacks. their pleasing rectangular proportions. how they fit badly in a hoodie pocket so you can drag them around everywhere with you like a temporary little buddy. the way they fit in your hand because they're MADE for human hands and not as bookshelf decoration. the way the pages feel when you riffle them gently with your thumb. How pristine and crisp they look when you get them and how creased and folded they look when you're done, even if you try to be nice to them. how that wear is okay, how that's correct actually, because they're made with the philosophy that books aren't meant to be PRETTY, they're meant to be read. that little ripple new ones get on the left side from where you hold them when you're reading, the way the ripple only goes as far as you've read, because u change stories by reading as they are changing you. how you can find thousands of these creased and folded and loved little dudes in every thrift store and used book shop and neighborhood library and you can instantly see the ones that someone carried around in a backpack for weeks or read to pieces or gave up on halfway through because they wear being read like fresh snow wears footprints. I love these poorly made, subpar little rectangles so much. truly the people's books.

imagine how much of a fucking horrible person you have to be that on the first day your elected into office the crisis calls of a Suicide Prevention Project Go Up 33%. The Trevor Project Received over 1,400 Call By Early Monday Afternoon. Most of those calls, if not all, are coming from children. Children scared of you and what you will do. Imagine how much power and how horrible you have to be to do that.

I love being transgender, and I'll never stop.
Today was scary but raising 3k with my sister and being with my girlfriend filled me with hope. I love being transgender and I'll never stop.

the pilot and the doll
"They took my fucking body! My body--" The pilot broke down, choking out a sob.
The combat doll stared with its many glassy eyes, tilting its head and softly chittering. "Your mech."
"Yes! Yes, my-- my mech, my body..." They knocked back their whiskey as if it could save them. "They said I can't pilot anymore, and..."
"Do you miss it?" the doll chirped.
The former pilot hissed. "I was alive in it, it was me, it felt like I was finally me. Especially in battle--I was myself, I was free." They looked at the doll half-drunk and with hollow hunger.
It was a stare the doll could return. "The truth of metal. The hum and hiss of mechanics. The force of artillery fire, and the grace of a weapon."
They stared at it a bit, sideways. "...Yeah, that's it. You get it."
"Because this one is that," it replied. "It is that all the time. Without a mech."
"That... must be nice. To just be that, be... yourself. All the time." The whiskey glass, empty, was considered for a long moment.
The doll waited for a time. And then spoke. "You could be."
"Huh?" They were shocked for a second, looking up abruptly.
"You could be like this one."
Their shaking head; disbelief. "No, no, I couldn't. No witch would take me."
"You are like this one," it said, and gently went to rest its head on the ex-pilot's shoulder. "And its Master would take you."
They didn't budge it, but... relaxed, a bit. A tear in their eye. "For real...?"
"Come with this one," it said, looking them in the eye, all five of its focusing on their pair. "Become."
There was a long pause, and a shaky breath.
"Alright."
