— delivery boy woes

friday night shifts are the absolute worst. not only were there a huge amount of orders to keep up with, customers somehow just seem to become more intolerant, which made this shitty job even shittier. barely an hour into his shift, jihoon was already receiving a dressing down from his manager – something about a customer’s pizza not being hot.

well, shit. it’s not his fault it was freezing outside and he definitely didn’t invent friday night rush hour. but determined to stay on the job for at least a month, all he could muster was a few nods throughout the scolding, and immense willpower to not roll his eyes.

“you got that?” his manager’s indignant tone snaps him out of his daydream, and jihoon blinks a bit before nodding again, biting his lip in an attempt to keep in all the nasty comments he has to say. probably lacking the energy and time to deal with jihoon any further, his manager simply sighs heavily before heading back to his job.

just as jihoon was about head into the kitchen to see if there were any new orders, another delivery boy comes out, almost hitting him with the door. “watch it, asshole,” jihoon clicks his tongue in annoyance, shoving the other boy aside to get into the kitchen. he kind of recognizes him – woojin, was that his name? whatever. it didn’t really matter anyway. to jihoon, woojin was basically some goody-two-shoes at work whom everybody seemed to get along with – a stark contrast to himself, really, but not that jihoon was bitter about that or anything. apparently they were the same age, which made comparisons inevitable, and perhaps that was what made jihoon loathe woojin even more.

— collateral damage

running was never really his strong point – his stamina and speed were average at best, nothing special, since he never bothered to train especially hard or do exceptionally well during gym class back in school.

but at times like these? wow he wish he had tried harder.

at this point in time, his lungs are starting to burn, the ache he felt in his legs from breaking out into a sprint all of a sudden was long gone, replaced by a numb feeling which made him feel like his limbs were a separate part of his body, just moving by its own accord, yet not fast enough to catch up with the guy that stole his wallet. he feels like he should give up – there’s no way he’ll ever catch up to that bastard. he’s probably used to running away from people but the only time jihoon has ever ran in the past few years was after a bus that he nearly missed.

ok, he tells himself, if i don’t get him by the time i reach the next building, i’m quitting. just then, as if someone had finally caught on with his desperation, the perpetrator stumbled, allowing jihoon to close the gap significantly.

almost there! he reaches his hands out, ready to give that bastard hell and make his jacket explode. he feels the fabric right at his fingertips… almost—

he doesn’t know what happened, but all of a sudden there’s warm, brown liquid engulfing him in a light shower. someone’s standing in front of him, also caught in the sudden mysterious rain. it takes a few more seconds for him to register the broken plastic cup lying on the floor, and the telltale smell of coffee. he looks at the person in front of him, eyebrows raised and jaw slack, because he can’t really believe that this is happening right now.

“you’ve got to be kidding me. did your parents not teach you how to walk? i was this close to getting him!”

hi guys! thanks for all the welcome messages i really appreciate them ;u; i’m trying to get this kid started so if you’d like to plot feel free to like this post and i’ll hit you up (: also i’ve come up with some plots here to spark some ideas. i actually have quite a few more plot ideas in mind but i want to build this guy up first before i explore more relationships for him. but i’m super up for brainstorming YES so pls hmu !!!
