I’m a solasmancer and all that, but I personally think it would be hilarious that in world states where you don’t romance solas they confirm that Varric and Solas are canonically a couple.

inquisition companions react to the inquisitor missing half their arm

because bioware didn’t wanna give it to us, i decided i’d just do it myself. (insert thanos meme) even though i am like years late to the hype.

the game is like 9 years old at this point, but spoilers ahead.

do keep in mind this is my own personal interpretation of each character. it may not be accurate to your own interpretations. (also i know leliana is technically not a companion in inquisition but i included her anyways)

cassandra pentaghast

if cassandra could plunge a knife into the heart of solas, she would. she would not let him get away with betraying you and taking the anchor along with your arm. you had basically fallen into her arms when you emerged from the portal and she had to carry you back to halamshiral. for the days you were unconscious, cassandra was anxious and extra prickly. there were many times where cullen would have to talk her down from her anger. even varric did too.

dorian pavus

the first thing he did was crack a joke. the atmosphere was tense and it just slipped out. “i asked you to come back in one piece, not missing one.” safe to say, the other companions did not approve of his joke. dorian was set to return to tevinter after being notified of his new position as a magister, but he delayed the return to his homeland for you. he sat in your room as you lied unconscious, barely breathing, leg anxious bouncing up and down. when you awoke, you were immediately met with a large and tight hug from him. he knocked the air out of your lungs from that.

Read that new article on DA:TV & instead of contemplating the possibility of Varric being dead my mind got stuck on the possibility of Varric & Solas stuck in the fade together.

Actually you’re all wrong. Solas, Varric and Lavellan were actually in a polycule and both Lavellan and Varric miss their husband very dearly and are waiting for him to come home to see their son.

The first time I draw Dragon Age fanart in two years and this is what I decided to do.

I love how much you can feel Anders haunting the narrative in the conversation between Varric and Solas in the gameplay trailer.

nearly every male party member in dai took one look at cole and asked “is anyone going to parent this kid?” and didn’t wait for an answer

yeah they could kill varric off for the tragedy but consider: varric and solas stuck in the fade, arguing like a divorced couple for half of the game.

The idea that Varric is trying so hard to stop Solas because he didn't try to stop Anders is making me so feral. He didn't try. He just watched as Anders spiraled further and further until it was too late. His attempts were jokes, lighthearted things that didn't reach how far Anders already was

Solas: How does passively accepting your fate constitute a fight?

Varric: In that story of yours—-the fisherman watching the stars, dying alone. You thought he gave up, right?

Solas: Yes.

Varric: But he went on living. He lost everyone, but he still got up every morning. He made a life, even if it was alone.

Varric: That's the world. Everything you build, it tears down. Everything you've got, it takes. And it's gone forever.

Varric: The only choices you get are to lie down and die or keep going. He kept going. That's as close to beating the world as anyone gets.

Solas: Well said. Perhaps I was mistaken.

Along with the huge amount of other, more important things going on with this meeting, Solas also experiences the whiplash of seeing one of his old friends noticeably older, gray-haired, and closer to dying, while he has remained exactly the same.
