Natasha came up with the name Hope first, the day she realized she was pregnant--because she thought the Red Room had sterilized her, finding out she was pregnant was a surprise--and a symbol of how she was breaking free of what the Red Room had done to her (at least to Natasha).

She didn't tell Clint about her idea to name Hope Hope until just before she went into labor, though.

One of Natasha's most treasured memories from Scarlett's childhood is the first time Scarlett experienced snow.

More specifically, the look of joy on her face as she watched Natasha throw a snowball at Clint before joining in the fun.

Natasha's arrow necklace is the only piece of jewelry that she owns that wasn't something she had for a cover or as part of a mission.

It was a gift from Clint on their first anniversary.

"I don't know if I'd consider the life of a professional ballet dancer any more normal than the one you've chosen," Natasha observed, "but yes, I think you could have gone pro, if that had been what you wanted."

Despite her own troubled history with ballet, Natasha quite enjoyed watching presentations, especially with her daughter. It was something of a mother-daughter bonding activity for her.

Today, as they waited for the show to begin, was no different.

She smiled.

"A little bird told me you might be interested."
