This is a practice frisco-style gas tank I made over 4 years ago out of 18g with all simple hand tools! I was cleaning up and almost snuck it in the trash since I learned what I needed from it.. but I saw it there laying in 2 pieces and decided to clean it up a bit, stick it back together, and make it a panel I can put artwork on when it's finished. It's def a rough tank and today I would have done things differently so I could get a cleaner finish. It's hard to learn a trade when you don't have access to a lot of sheet metal shapers/tools and there's only so much you can learn from watching a video of somebody else doing it. I've been to shops when I was younger that threw me out even after I offered to work for free if they would just teach me. That didn't stop me from figuring it out, so I kept at it by myself any chance I could then wanting to advance more I made time once to make it to a class which taught me a lot and opened my eyes to new ideas and techniques but still you need to shape everyday to get just "decent" at it. I'm learning everyday but it's days like today that make me appreciate simple things i've made with my own hands, getting sometime under the hood with the tig welder I barely get to use and thinking about all the friends I've made in this journey. Like I said it ain't pretty but it's progress and to me that's what life is all about just alittle bit of progress every single day amounts to either being good or just wishing to be good. This post is really just about going after what you set out to do, fck what everybody else thinks or what distracts life throws infront of you, just put your head down and work. Shoutout to @buttpee thank you for all the knowledge you instilled in me over the years from all your stories, content, videos, ect. I know you don't know me but you inspired me to keep pushing and opened my eyes to another world then what I ever would have known.. even when times our tough, I always go back to working with my hands and it just feels like i should be moving metal around.

New #tig #welder couldn't have come at a better time. Found a horrible patch job under a gallon of bondo on the 65 mustang fender. Owner brought me another fender that was destroyed in the front to use the good lower.
