Led Zeppelin III’s original vinyl edition was packaged in a gatefold sleeve with an innovative cover, designed by Zacron, a multi-media artist whom Page had met in 1963 whilst Zacron was a student at Kingston College of Art.
The cover and interior gatefold art consisted of a surreal collection of seemingly random images on a white background, many of them connected thematically with flight or aviation (as in “Zeppelin”). Behind the front cover was a rotatable laminated card disc, or volvelle, covered with more images, including photos of the band members, which showed through holes in the cover. Moving an image into place behind one hole would usually bring one or two others into place behind other holes.
The idea of including a volvelle, based on crop rotation charts, was initially Page’s concept. However, the result was a meeting of minds as Zacron had been working on rotating graphics from 1965. Zacron felt that by not including text on the front of the cover, the art would endure.
The album cover featured on the front page of The Daily Mail’s Live Magazine in December 2007, which hailed Led Zeppelin III as “the greatest rock album of all time"

The Impossebulls, Everything Has Changed Nothing Is Different, 12" LP
Hear it HERE
blocSonic is very happy to be able to present to you, in conjunction with SLAMjamz, The Impossebulls’ incredible new album, Everything Has Changed; Nothing Is Different. From the beginning, they’ve been unapologetically sticking with that classic 90s hip-hop vibe… giving heads music that harkens back to an era that made the boom and the bap central. This new album is no different. However there is a difference. The difference lies in how well it captures the spirit of that era more so than any of their previous albums have. Listening to this album, it’s clear that these guys have grown up and have been making hip-hop for so long now that their skills have been honed to a polish.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt that they’ve had help from an incredible array of talented artists on this album! Most noteworthy (simply because of the important part they played in the history of this little thing called hip-hop) are Chuck D, DMC (Run-DMC) & Son of Bazerk and No Self Control! That isn’t it though… there’s DJ Lord and Brother Mike Williams of Public Enemy. There’s blocSonic artists CM aka Creative and cheese. Last, but surely not least, there’s also Sekreto & Cabelleros Del Plan G, Belle McNulty, and Tah Phrum Duh Bush who all play such important roles in making this album so memorable!

Memo Guerra, Moon Phase: 12" LP
Check out Memo Guerra's video HERE
The personal and artistic journey that Memo Guerra has traversed from his last album material (Abstrakt Muzak, 2013) has been such that it has taken all this time to achieve and complete a worthy follow-up. Moon Phase chronicles the entire process and the result is an album bursting with colour and intricate structures as if it were a choose your own adventure book. Each listen reveals new sonic details.
During that time Guerra recorded Use Your Delusion I and II, by his experimental side-project Cristo (among the best of 2015, Freim) and the <3 EP under his electronic pen aka Cheap Talk, which allowed him to open up to different sonic possibilities and learning new production techniques and composition skills. ‘This experimentation was a key part of the gestation process for Moon Phase, and helped develop a wider musical language to help exhibit a broader range of emotions’, he explains.
Moon Phase, his current bilingual album shows a great leap forward in Guerra’s singular pop vision. The album features contributions from Chivo Elizondo (Los Mundos, Gods of Speed), Jules Vera (Jesus Warr), Jesse Jenkins and Austin Youngblood (Pure X).

Cassettes with original master on one side, vinyl rip on the other. Feel like I'm 17 years old again. Almost.

New Year's Eve. 10:30. You've finished your NYE Special SurfnTurf, with the complimentary bottle of $8 champagne. In the limo, staring at your pinky ring, pondering next year's ridiculous selection resolutions. Less tofu? Stop threatening to kill the boss? Use less water? Whatever. Gramma's got the kids. Sweety-pie is vacantly texting no one in particular next to you. You can head back home to the neighborhood 'Rockin Ring It In With Your Homies' party -same as last year and the year before. Or, you can tell the driver to head south. To San Marcos. To get really, really, really rocked. By these guys. @chascamusic Voted the 2015 'Band Most Likely To Change Your Mind About Something' #honeyergonnalovem #donttellthekids #forsuredonttellgramma (at Austin Signal)
