1. The Texas State Capitol

Located at 110 Congress Ave, its location is excellent for picnic. Texas capitol is located in the heart of the city with plenty picnic lawn spaces. There are plenty trees and perfect shady spots. If you like to go out for a picnic and get excellent views, there is the agricultural gem place perfect for sightseeing. And if you like a quiet place, the northern side of the Texas capitol is less crowded. The place covers a large acreage and one can walk around, taking pictures and chatting with your date. This is a nice place to take family out for a picnic. Although it would be nice you carry take-out.

2. Zilker Park

The place is nice for sightseeing. There are nearby restaurant and hotels for dinner, lunch or breakfast. The place is excellent for a view of Downton Austin skyline and the lady lake bird. The best time to visit the park is on weekdays. The place isn’t crowded unlike weekends... However if you are only free during the weekends, arrive early to pick the best picnic spot. If you love dogs, the park is full of the four-legged friends. Many families prefer to visit with their dogs. And you will be surprised how a lot of dogs are attracted to picnic places. If you don’t love dogs, there are designated places where you can relax with no nuisance. The park is located at 2100 Barton Springs Road.
