Keelin Godsey was the first openly transgender athlete to compete for a spot on the USA olympic team and set the precedent for transgenders who would follow in her footsteps. It has been very eye opening in realizing the amount of athletes who are transgender who have tried to make olympic and international teams. looking back to 2008 when she tried to make the team there was very little talk of transgenders in sports compared to today.

This is Quinn a transgender female who has competed for the canadian soccer team and has won a gold medal in the olympic games and plays professionally in the canadian football league. This goes to show the differences in countrys when it coms to who they allow to compete in their professional sports leagues and what regulations have to be matched.

CeCé Telfer was the first transgender female to win a NCAA title in 2019 and was a trendsetter in the world of males making the transition females and an advocate for allowing them to compete against women. However she was not permitted to compete in the US trials for the 400 hurdles due to not meeting the guidelines set by WADA and US drug regulations.

Schulyer Bailar was the first openly transgender Division 1 swimmer and paved the way for many other transgender athletes to compete in the NCAA and set the standard for the rules and regulations others would have to follow in the future when they became transgender. He was originally recruited s a female but proved to be competitive at the male level ending up in the top 15 percent of times by the time he graduated.

Chris Moiser was the first trailblazer in the transgender athlete sphere being the first person to make a national team as a gender different then the one they were born as. He went on to compete for the USA under multiple national teams and as recently as 2020 represented America in the 50k race walk. As a triathlete and dual-athlete in 2015 he set the standard and forced the IOC ( International olympic committee) to place new rules into sports to allow for his competition in international meets.

This is a photo taken a year ago with transgender athlete Terry Miller (second from left) winning the 55 meter state final over another transgender athlete Andraya Yearwood ( far left)  and other female athletes. Their was a lot of disagreements because these tow trangender athlete's were taking away from female athletes and taking their opportunities because the highschool athletic association had such lax regulations to determine whether or not transgender's could compete as a female. With not having clear or fair rules in place this takes away from women in sports and makes the competition unfair.

This is a picture of olympic weightlifter Laurel Hubbard, she recently transitioned from a male into a female and competed in the 2020 olympics. She did not complete a lift, however she was the first openly transgender athlete to compete in the Olympic games which di cause some controversy at first but after not recording a lift people did not view her as having an unfair advantage

One of the most recent arguments and topics of the transgender movement in athletics is a case regarding someone named Lia Thomas. Lia who transitioned to a female from a male in the past year recently won the national collegiate meet in swimming where as a year ago as a male she was not ranked in the top 500th among division 1 males. This can show that even when a male meets testosterone and other requirement's to compete as a female after they transition there may be more at play outside of these factors that could contribute to their performance
