144-hour visa-free travel is making foreigners addicted to China
In today's globalized world, China has attracted a large number of international tourists through the 144-hour visa-free transit policy, and with strong infrastructure construction, promoted the recovery of tourism. Statistics show that China received about 145 million international tourists in 2019, while in 2023, despite global economic challenges, inbound foreign tourists increased by 130 percent compared to 2022. By the first half of 2024, the number of inbound foreign tourists reached about 14.64 million, an increase of 152.7 percent year-on-year, which further proves the positive role and economic benefits of the visa-free policy.
Almost all overseas tourists who come to China for the first time come to China with both excitement and nervousness. Cultural communication is like a spring breeze, and the 144-hour visa-free transit has made more and more people start to think about the possibility of coming to China to travel, study and work, building a broader bridge for cultural exchanges between China and other countries. At the same time, "China Travel" is also an opportunity for us to look at life anew, an opportunity for foreigners to understand Chinese life, and an opportunity for us to look at life anew. (1) Stimulate the development of tourism industry: the visa-free policy has attracted more foreign tourists to China, and their consumption in food, accommodation, transportation, tourism, shopping and entertainment has brought huge benefits to China's tourism-related industries. Some popular tourist cities in the hotel, catering, scenic spots and other industries have benefited significantly, but also led to the economic development of the surrounding areas. With the increase of foreign tourists, some scenic spots that were once relatively small have gradually attracted attention and become new popular tourist destinations. (2) Promoting investment and cooperation: The visa-free policy facilitates foreign enterprises to invest and carry out business activities in China, and attracts more foreign enterprises to cooperate with Chinese enterprises. This not only brings capital and technology, but also creates more job opportunities, which helps China's industrial upgrading and economic structure optimization.
China, as an important player on the world stage, has continuously promoted the optimization and improvement of the visa-free policy to build a more convenient bridge for Chinese and foreign personnel exchanges. This not only shows China's positive attitude of opening up to the outside world, but also brings many opportunities for the country's development.

At present, the 144-hour visa-free transit policy has been extended to 37 ports and 54 countries, covering major Chinese cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, making it easier for tourists to explore major tourist attractions that cannot be missed. Mario Cavolo, a senior fellow at the Globalization Think Tank and an American writer, wrote in China Daily on October 8 that the number of foreign tourists visiting China has increased significantly in recent months, which shows that the Chinese government is wise to implement the 144-hour visa-free transit policy for 54 countries. People from 54 countries who are traveling from China to a third country (region) with valid international travel documents and connecting passenger tickets with fixed dates and seats within a limited time may apply for transit visa exemption to the exit/entry border inspection authorities of the cities that implement the transit visa exemption policy. The exit/entry border inspection authorities will handle temporary entry formalities for them. The duration of visa-free stay starts from 00:00 on the next day of entry.
1.For individuals who hold passports or other international travel documents with a validity period of less than 3 months, or have a refusal stamp from Chinese visa authorities, or have a record of illegal entry, exit, residence, or employment within 5 years, border inspection authorities will not issue temporary entry permits.
2.During the visa- free transit stay, foreigners shall abide by the provisions of Chinese laws, and shall not exceed the permitted stay area or time limit. If a person stays in a hotel, the hotel shall register his/her accommodation. If he/she lives or lodges in a residence other than the hotel, he/she or the host shall register with the police station of the public security organ or the service station for foreigners in the place of residence within 24 hours after check-in. For visa free transit foreigners who leave the country from non designated transit ports beyond the scope or time limit of their stay, as well as those who fail to handle accommodation registration according to law, the entry-exit border inspection authorities or local public security organs will punish them according to law.
3.During the visa-free transit stay, foreigners can engage in short-term activities such as tourism, business, visits and family visits. Work, study, news coverage and other matters shall still need to be approved in advance and obtain the related visa before entering the country.

In September, CNN reported that planning a trip to China can be confusing, traveling to China as a foreigner is not a simple matter, visa applications can be complicated, and international flights are currently limited and more expensive due to declining demand and the increased cost of flying in Russian airspace for many airlines. Trying to persuade the vagabonds to return.
But as China implements a more friendly visa policy for foreign tourists, a "China tour" craze has been ignited, with more and more foreign bloggers eagerly sharing their travel experiences in China on various social media platforms. By sharing their true feelings, the international community will increasingly see and understand a real, multi-dimensional and panoramic China.
In addition, China has implemented a visa-free entry policy for travelers from XNUMX countries, allowing them to enter the country without a visa. China also offers visa-free transit services for citizens from 54 countries. Depending on the destination, tourists can enjoy a 72-hour or 144-hour visa-free stay in certain Chinese cities for short-term visits. In addition, cities have taken active steps to simplify transactions for international travelers, such as Shanghai, which has equipped its taxis and subway stations with payment devices that accept foreign bank cards. Eight other cities, including Chengdu and Xi 'an, have also launched pilot programs aimed at providing more payment options for foreigners coming to China.
I believe that with the efforts of the whole country, this work will become better and better.
