Hey, I didn't go crazy or anything. You know I don't go all out with that. But if I need to put up more to help you out I can do that.

Christmas is harder and harder to get into. Even though Jenna has more than enough decorations.

What I want for Christmas? Honestly, there isn't anything on my list. I've had too much else to deal with to think about that. But I guess I can try and help you with hints for them. 

Those were bad times, but I'm happy he's out of that phase. I've been down that road and I'd probably still be on it if it weren't for having to take care of him and Elena. But I'm happy for that, too. They've already lost a lot of people. They don't need more dying on them.

That reminds me… I need to know what you want for Christmas and you’ll be doing me a favor by dropping hints for Elena, Jeremy, and Alaric. Since talking them into giving me some sort of idea is going to be a little tricky.

That’s true as well. I remember I’d watch Jer walk through the front doors in the morning and he’d already be stoned before first period. The learning, moving on stages has really worked both ways, hasn’t it? I’m just so happy that you are here and that Elena and Jeremy have gotten a second chance with two more people that they love.

Don't worry, Caroline. I know it needs to be discussed at some point and I'm not putting it off forever. I just don't want it to ruin the holidays for us. 

I guess when you put it that way it sounds a lot better. But y'know, taking them in helped me, too. It helped me realize I needed to grow up. And it's for them and for Ric that I'm doing my best to deal with all of this. They deserve a trophy just as much if we're going in that direction.

You guys really do deserve a break from all the drama, but once the holidays are up and you still haven’t laid your demands out on the table I’m going keep pushing until you do decide to do something about it.

I disagree with you about that. I admire you for giving up a life that you had known for a long time to take on a much larger role in the world. You didn’t just give apart of yourself up, but you let go off your humanity and died for your family. People may not know everything, but I do. If people knew the truth your name would be plastered on a trophy somewhere in the town square.

We're just...taking a little trip down to Boston before Christmas. So I can see where he grew up and actually experience snow for once. 

Yes, both the inside and outside could use some things. Nothing all out, but simple stuff. We just need to dig through the boxes in the attack. Or the cupboard under the stairs but I'm not sure if they're actually in there.

I really don't understand how quickly time has passed.

Made plans? Oh, do tell because you’ve definitely got my fullest attention now. Okay, carrying the tree is your job, then. The outside as well as the inside could use some decor. No such thing as gloomy Christmas decorating.

I will at some point. I promise. But it is the holiday season and I don't really want to throw a stick in it just yet with that conversation. I want to at least have some time to enjoy our time together before talking about that. 

Well, I wouldn't really call us celebs, but if you say so. Elena and Jeremy are my family. I couldn't not take them in, honestly. I'd say being everyone's favorite history teacher is more celeb status in this town than me.

Perhaps…, but I think you should sit him down and talk it out because just as my favorite couple once pointed out, it’s LoVe by the way, that taking on the heartbreak now is less painful than taking it on sometime down the long bumpy road ahead when we already know the end result. I think you’ll be surprised by what you’ll discover though.

Yeah, but you and Alaric are celebs. I mean you took on two teens when they had no one else when their parents past away and Alaric is everyone’s favorite history teacher. Who, by chance, is drinking buddies with Mr. ITHINKI’MSEXYBUTREALLYI’MJUSTAJACKASS.
