• Rituals • Getting back to some of my healthy habits. I love to start my day off with some inner work. Using oracle cards to guide my intentions for the day, and then meditating with the messages they impart on me. And of course, coffee 😆 Do you have any ritualistic practices?! I’d love to hear about them 💗🙏🏻 https://ift.tt/2KniDua

A little late night flashback to the time my gorgeous, sweet coworker Kaylee lent me her beauty for an afternoon. Thinking of bringing this piece back to the shop - maybe with a little bit of an upgrade. Yay or nay? https://ift.tt/2qZb8Rs

Intuition is such a powerful force. I believe there are two types of intuition; gut intuition and mental intuition. Your gut intuition is instinctual and subconscious. It manifests in a deep feeling, though you may not have conscious awareness of why the feeling exists. Your gut intuition knows. Mental intuition, I believe, comes from conscious awareness, observation, and willingness to absorb information. It relies heavily on self trust. Your mental intuition helps guide you through what your gut intuition is trying to tell you. Amethyst is a great stone to work with for strengthening your intuition. It provides a gentle healing vibration to allow self trust, and encourages conscious awareness. 🔮💜 https://ift.tt/2qEXLWW

The most common question I get asked about my Malas is what makes them vegan. The answer is pretty simple in that I don’t use any animal products or bi-products to make them. Malas are traditionally strung on silk, but I prefer a super strong nylon cord. I wish there were a more environmentally friendly option, but I haven’t found anything durable enough yet. For beads, I only use gemstones, wood, and sterling silver findings. No coral, no shell. To finish everything off I hand make the tassel with cotton string. Every once in a while I question my decision to make my Malas vegan. Silk is so much softer and in some ways, more aesthetically pleasing. It makes for Malas that are truly stunning and while I believe mine are as well, sometimes I feel like I’m missing that touch of soft, supple silk. But then I remember why I made the decision in the first place; I wanted my pieces to align with the heart of yoga. I wanted to make my pieces accessible to everyone. I don’t have to worry about inclusiveness via sizing or fit, but I wanted to make sure that everyone can comfortably enjoy my offerings. So I take a deep breath and remember. And keep on keeping on, making my vegan malas 💗🙏🏻 https://ift.tt/2Evx2QK

✨The Integrity Mala✨ Thank you all for firing of suggestions and helping me name this piece! Although the name I settled on wasn’t recommended directly, there were a few suggestions that helped me get to it and I’m so grateful! It’s always so fun to see what others can come up with - it feels like collaborating with you all in a way. Who’s excited for this beauty to hit the shop?! https://ift.tt/2q6wRXJ

Dear @pablos.perspective & all Alo Ambassadors, Pablo, you made a post directed at Kino in which you suggest she directed hate your way and is undertaking the massive feet of holding Alo Yoga to account for her own gain. First of all, I find it odd that you in one post manage to condemn her and her efforts while simultaneously complaining about you and Hannah being condemned for your relationship with Alo. I’m unsure of how you can throw stones while shouting “don’t throw stones!” Please practice what you preach. Kino asked for dialogue. Nothing more. She has openly spoken against hate speech and disrespecting you and the other ambassadors from the moment her article went live on Elephant Journal. She’s asked her followers to communicate with love and kindness. People not listening to that can not be held against her. How is it not okay for her to ask people to talk to you (ambassadors) about what the company you choose to endorse is doing to a fellow yogi (have you forgotten that Dana is your peer? You are not immune to what she is dealing with. They’re just not threatened by you right now) but it is okay for you to create a post condemning her for speaking out? Is “silence anyone that questions us” written into the Alo contract? She’s allowed to fight for what she believes in, but only if it doesn’t challenge the status quo? . I’m confused about how you all expected this to go. A company you chose to be the face of is acting in horrendous ways and you thought what? That you’d get to just ignore it and keep cashing your paycheques? . I’m truly sorry that some people are getting nasty, and ugly, and saying things that are in no world (much much less the yoga world) acceptable. But you Ambassadors should have considered when signing the contract what being an ambassador would mean, and whether or not you’re willing to deal with the ramifications of that. Finally, does it really not bother any of you at all that this company that has been “so good to you” has essentially fed you to the wolves by refusing to acknowledge & address their actions? Continued in comments... https://ift.tt/2q7PXMv

I have been super sick over the last week. Spring time is a bittersweet time every year for me. It brings out the beauty of new life, growth, and rebirth, but it also makes me sick. Between allergies and the hugs temperature shifts (two weeks ago we almost got up to 20 degrees Celsius. Then it suddenly dropped to -20+) my body always has a hard time coping. I’m through the worst of it and on my way to feeling better, and I’m anxious to get back to the grind!! While I was sick I had to spare as much energy as I could to be able to go to work at my “day job” (it’s actually an evening job 😆) so unfortunately Soul & Spirit had to go on the back burner for a bit. For anyone waiting on orders, thank you for your patience! Look for a message about your order & shipment date today 💗 I’m looking to get completely caught up (orders, listings, product photos, giveaway shipments, blog posts, the whole 9 yards) ASAP 💪🏻 Uploading this beauty, the Spring of The Earth Mala to the shop this afternoon. Such a perfect piece for this time of year - uplifting, nurturing, transitional 💕 https://ift.tt/2GQo6e5

Let’s talk authenticity for a moment. . I’ve been struggling to grow this account, find a community, and find my voice as a business in this space. I’ve been feeling stuck in a need to be professional but also authentic to who I am as an individual (because Soul & Spirit is an extension of me as a person, after all). I’ve been frustrated in the difficulty to build meaningful relationships on this platform (man, that’s a hard thing to admit!) and beyond. I’ve been afraid to speak openly and from the heart at times - thinking I had to solely spread “positive vibes only” to show that my heart is in the right place. . But then. @kinoyoga spoke up on @nolatrees behalf and amongst all that chaos (I’ll share my thoughts on that in another post) I had a bit of an awakening. . I learned that I was going about everything all wrong. I was looking for community and relationships in a segment of the yoga world that wanted nothing to do with me (because my mom bod isn’t all that aesthetically pleasing and my asanas are as amateur as they come). I was wasting so much time and energy trying to get the “right” yogis to notice me and I had no idea until all the shit hit the fan that I was effectively participating in a high school version of the online community. In a desperate attempt to grow my account so I’d be seen as “worthy” (of following, of speaking to, of buying from? Maybe all three, if I’m being totally honest) I started using automation, mostly to like and follow. I thought I was being smart and now I feel so silly. I was following over 7,000(!) accounts. The vast majority I’ve never interacted with. It was a really disheartening realization. . But with awareness comes the opportunity for change and betterment. Over the last few days I’ve been cleaning up my account. As the number of people I’m following has decreased, I’ve noticed my following has decreased as well. The ultra competitive side of me has had a really hard time watching that happen. But my hope is that those that remain are here because you genuinely enjoy my content. And from here on out things will be different. I feel compelled to use my true voice. So here’s to that 💗 https://ift.tt/2GCw5eu
