ABC and the 9-1-1 production team would be incredibly stupid, idiotic, and incompetent if they didn't make Lou and Tommy the main characters… for a simple reason: Tommy expands this stagnant and directionless franchise to a new level of rescue that the regular 9-1-1 firefighters can't reach… like rescues in mountains, forests, oil fields, open seas, hard-to-reach places, and even Alaska… Now, if you think Buck and company, with their endless, circular dramas, are the foundation of Season 9… then good luck, and don't rush to Nashville, which is nothing more than a Lone Star that changed its address.

20th Television Studios could use some help and do some actor reshuffling and get Lou Ferrigno Jr. out of this bomb of a franchise (9-1-1) and put him where he's worth it (Interpret that as: Tracker on CBS with Justin Hartley).

"I've been seeing some fans saying, 'Tommy's just a supporting character,' 'He's not important,' 'The focus is on Buck.' But the truth is, they need Tommy more than they realize—especially if they want this franchise to last longer than one more season.
Tell me: which other character expands the show's mythology? Who elevates rescues to a level ordinary firefighters can't reach?
Buck, with his perpetual tearful expression and new-home drama? Eddie, The Straight Guy™ who runs from therapy like the devil from the cross? Bobby, who's literally become compost? Athena, almost retired, more involved with real estate than patrol? Hen and Karen in the recycled adoption loop? Maddie and Chimney in 'kidnapping + baby' mode version 3.0?
The answer is simple: Tommy Kinard and his Harbor Station air unit. A ready-made spin-off, with franchise potential, with angles Unexplored themes and an emotional charge that doesn't rely on forced romance or repeated trauma.
And before anyone says this is a fan's opinion: it isn't. It's a producer's analysis. A vision of the future. Because if the plan is to survive, repeating the tragedy of season 8 isn't an option. And rushing to Nashville thinking a country-pop version of Lone Star will save the franchise? Good luck with that.

Someone who bought the digital edition of Felix magazine that Lou is in could make the PDF available to fans who live in regions where it is not delivered (like Brazil).

According to an exclusive report from Deadline, Grimm is getting a movie reboot (probably for Paramount+) and will feature the original series' creative team.
Time for Lou Ferrigno Jr to get his first lead in a franchise

I just remembered the craziest dream I had in the last few days, in which 9-1-1 had a spin-off called Air Ops and that it took place within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and that Tommy was friends with Loki, Captain America, Hawkeye, Bucky Barnes, etc.

What's happened here?
Tumblr media
The 8th season of 9-1-1 really started off very well and is highly praiseworthy, but something may have happened to make the quality fade and they are resorting to ridiculous plots, in addition to having interrupted a promising relationship out of the blue… and going back to using old plots again.
If they continue like this in the next half of this 8th season then the cancellation of this series becomes a real possibility, even more so if the ratings and viewership continue to drop.
I mean, you have a new character that the audience is interested in and wants to see more of, an actor who is highly dedicated to what he does and wants to continue, you have highly promising stories that can last for at least 4 episodes (and you resolve all the plots in a single episode).
As a showrunner, you barely give any lines to your other protagonists, you almost completely ignore the arc of one of your protagonists and make him remember it practically at the end of the half-season, and what other characters have what?! 5 minutes of screen time and are never seen again?!
They will have 3 months to TRY to fix this mess they created, but if by some miracle they manage to do so (which I personally doubt, given how lost they are) and the audience and ratings don't match… They will have no one to blame but themselves and their blatant incompetence in managing a show as big as this.

This is probably very controversial, but the fact that outside the big emergency arc (which I have issues with), the best acted and most compelling performances this season were done by Tracie and Lou is wild to me. Half the mains had hardly any plot in 8 episodes. Tracie ate up every single second of episodes 4 and 5. Her reactions and her performances were believable and not overacted. Her perspective is not one of a first responder which added another layer of depth. You could feel her fear, her frustration of sometimes feeling like a single mom, her relief. Lou in 8x05 gave the perfect mix of comedy and emotion to his performance. We saw Tommy really feel connected to the 118, we saw him show up for Buck 4 separate times in that episode. And even scenes without dialogue, he gave it his all and made us see how in love Tommy is. Even the dumpster fire that was 8x06, in the restaurant we see the posture difference with Tommy. In 7x05 he was more prim and proper. He was sat up perfectly straight and was talking very matter of fact. While in 8x06, he’s lounged back in the booth, he’s smirking and playful, much more relaxed and in tune with Buck, he’s more confident and comfortable. During the breakup scene he was so engaged even if it wasn’t his dialogue. The facial expression journey we got to follow was amazing. The tears and hitched breaths. It made it all so real and emotional. Those two are not phoning it in and it shows. They aren’t overacting (which a lot of the mains tend to do tbh). I think it might have to do with the fact that they have a lot more projects under their belt with a number of different roles, but I could be wrong. They were really the stars of the show imo, and they were barely in it. But those performances stuck out to me above all the rest.

I know this isn’t a unique opinion, but its so annoying to me that they’ve written Buck as a 14 year old girl pining for her ex. Buck, you’re 33 years old, just call him ffs. This isn’t the will/they won’t/they plot they think it is. It’s lowkey irritating to watch. Buck is a grown man acting like a teenager. If he was ever serious about Tommy, make him fucking act like it. Make him sad, make him angry, make him confused, make him scared, whatever the fuck they’re doing now is just frivolous teenage nonsense. It’s not how adults act. If he really wanted to move on like an adult would, he’d delete Tommy’s number. Problem solved. But he doesn’t. So obviously he doesn’t want to move on. Having him bake as a distraction, 100% realistic. But he’s not baking as a distraction from the pain of a break up, he’s baking to stop himself from contacting Tommy. Who tf is stopping him from calling? Irl what’s the actual consequence??? Tommy says no? Tommy doesn’t want to continue anything? Ok fine, now he knows and he can properly move on. It’s truly baffling to me that this show is being written by professionals who are paid to do this for a living.
As a bucktommy fan, the Tommy crumbs are super fun. I love that. But as a viewer (who’s not currently even viewing just gaining info through various sources) this plot line is so fucking annoying. All of his friends are stopping him from contacting Tommy for some reason, he’s stopping himself for some reason, tell us why that reason is. They pointedly showed us Tommy wanting to reach out. Tommy is also pining too, but he has a valid reason for not contacting. He broke up with Buck, he broke his heart, he has no reason to think Buck wants anything to do with him. What does Buck have to lose. It’s genuinely so aggravating.

From Lou's interview with Katy, we can see three things:
Like us, he loves the character Tommy and wants to play him again and continue his story.
He also didn't like the ending (temporary?!) they gave the character and understands how angry we were about it.
ABC is stupid/idiot for wasting such a rich character and such a dedicated actor who loves the character.
