People assume that you are a man with psychic control over bees, but you're actually a hive of bees with psychic control over a man

Every year at 12mn on your birthday a portal will open. This portal leads to a space between dimensions where you will meet one of your parallel world counterparts. You can either meet up for a lovely chat, or a battle to take over their life.

normalise giving minor background characters insane, world-changing side quests that no one in the main story ever notices.

Love love love characters that present themselves as emotionally open social butterflies but the more you see of them the more obvious it is that they’re the most closed off fuckers in the story. Sure, they want to help you with your personal problems and messy emotions, but if you turn that shit back on them, they’ll shut down or deflect every time. Why are you sticking your nose in their business anyway? It’s not like it matters. They’re not a person, they’re just a role being played. They’re the guy who fixes things and saves people. Please ignore the man behind the mask, he’s fine. Everything’s fine.

“Why are you lying on the floor?”
“I’ve a better question, why are you sleeping under my bed?”
“You’re right, that is a better question.”

my favorite genre of fictional character is like "i am terrifying to almost everyone, i'm very good at killing, i can endure anything, i've become exceptionally good at playing into my reputation, and if you try to give me positive social interaction i will react with confusion and cower in a corner like an abused animal. and i may try to shoot you. but there is also a chance i may imprint on you like a feral dog receiving its first loving touch! good luck."

Pocket creature no. 3. This one is pretty cool. It can change daytime environments to night and night time environments to day, but only for the owner. Also it kind of runs out of magic after a minute or two and needs to recharge for a while after.

Last but not least, the star toad pocket creature. Produces an infinite amount of star candies but dispenses only one per day. Some found flavors include lava fumes, rye bread, persimmon leaves, and goblin toes.

people on here talk about someone being resurrected "coming back wrong," but personally i love someone resurrected being exactly as they were as if no time has passed.
but the one doing the resurrecting? years have gone by. theyve gone insane from the grief. theyve become so one-track minded about bringing their loved one back that theyve done despicable deeds to achieve their goals.
their loved one may not have changed, but they are almost unrecognizable. what will their beloved even think of them now?

Reactions to… being stuck somewhere
"I don't care if no one hears us, screaming for help makes me feel like I'm at least doing something."
"Just sit down. This is probably going to take a while."
"Any more of your clever ideas?"
"If you get us out of here, I will be forever grateful."
"Come on, this can't happen right now!"
"Well, this is not how I wanted to spend my day."
"If there is one person I'd like to be stuck with it's you."
"There is an entire fire brigade on their way to us and I look like this."
"Get us out of here! I don't like small rooms!"
"And it had to be with you."
"I told you not to push that button!"
"What if no one ever finds us?"
"At least we're not stuck alone."
"If our friends did this on purpose, I'm going to kill them."

“No, no. Trust me; it works. Humans love to take care of pregnant and baby things. I’ve even seen them adopt things they eat!” “What about things that eat them?” “Oh, humans like those best of all! So just go up and act weak, they’ll take care of the rest.”

Another storytelling rule I think people should remember is the law of diminishing returns. If you keep on ramping up the stakes higher and higher and higher, after a point it gets to where the audience can’t really care anymore.
