Just now finding out about this, going to go try and help as I live near Zagreb, just gotta find out where Postaja is even located. It's horrible that this is happening to people who are just trying to help the community when the government doesn't do shit to help its own citizens.
Graffiti in Vienna in solidarity with Postaja squat in Zagreb that is under threat of eviction.
Yesterday morning the squat was attacked by security thugs hired by the owner who attempted to enforce an illegal eviction.
The squatters managed to defend the space overnight, but the threat of renewed attacks by security thugs remains.
Postaja have released a statement calling for supporters to come to the space to help defend the space.
"We are an anarchist community living in a squatted compound in zagreb. over the few years this place has been squatted. we renovated it heavily, built spaces for creativity and sports. neighbours and other people come for creative and political projects on top of the people living here. we are growing our own food and recycling and almost completely living off this. our water supply is mainly rain water and we live off solar panel energy - we are truly attempting to live an egalitarian, self sustained life with freedom and power over our own lives, in solidarity and sharing, instead of giving into the predatory capitalist machine.
Yesterday morning around 10 am 20-30 security thugs broke into the space with at least two huge dogs, waking people up and forcefully entering our bedrooms and other spaces, threatening us that we need to get out right now.
They did not have a warrant and we know the squatting laws here - we are claiming possession and until the court case is finished they have no right to try to force us out. this is solely a criminal aggression and intimidation attempt by the private investors who want to allegedly turn this space into a storage space - however, official information available about the business is more than dubious.
Now we are calling for support as we need bodies on the ground and media attention to resist this attempt to force us out. you can reach us at: [email protected]
If you can support, come, spread the word.
Resistance and solidarity with the autonomous squatting communities worldwide!"

to me it gives off a much different feeling that’s a bit tough to explain
the scene is beautiful, almost too beautiful, but the way its composed creates a different effect
it makes the scene feel dangerous, it sets my nerves on edge
the reason for this is probably the clashing aesthetics; the beautiful plant in the middle in full bloom giving off a warm, spring/summer energy, a flower such as that is not expected in a setting that so jarringly contrasts the plants energy
the surroundings are cold and glum, the daylight already weak while the tall trees and the fog suffocate it even more, all the warmth in the picture has been sucked out and the only warm colors left are the visible dirt patches here and there
but it’s not just the feel of the picture, there also may be small details that we don’t see ourselves but the brain picks up on subconsciously
firstly, “the spring/summer energy” I mentioned earlier is not just about the energy, the plant most likely is the type to blossom during spring or summer as most do and (most of us at least) are used to seeing blossom during spring or summer so the whole forest background goes against all of that
it may at first glance seem like the forest is also in its spring/summer motions as its mostly green, until you notice that every tree in that picture is an evergreen tree, taking away the possible insight about the season when the picture was taken
another factor is the weather (I’m probably gonna be stretching it just a litttttle bit here sorry)
the sky above is cloudy, completely covered in clouds like a solid wall of unmovable whatever, and while the weather can be cloudy during the warmer seasons its a sight more associated with early January or late December, the months that used to be abundant with snow, but are lately just cloudy, cold and wet (from my own personal experience) - just like the aura this picture gives off, a nordic noir fans wet dream that’s been just a little distorted by the beauty and warmth of the flower
Now the reason I even started writing this mini essay:
Why is this picture beautiful, yet so unnerving and uncanny(at least to me)?
It simulates the feel of a impending danger, it feels like a trap.
What’s worse, it doesn’t feel like a man made trap, rather a trap set up by something inhuman that’s trying way too hard to be one. The entity understands that beauty draws us forward, it understands how to simulate beauty, but it does not understand the rest of it. It makes a bait that looks stunning and that beauty is uncanny, perfect. A spring/summer flower blossoming during winter? Such a perfect display of life defying the harsh conditions of life, yet it cannot be, its too perfect.
It’s like the odd feeling you get when looking at those older AI generated images of people. Perchance. The AI understands how to make a human, but it does not understand the the little things that make us human. The end result is too symmetrical and, again, too perfect. It weirds our brain out because it’s not used to such perfection. I could go on about that phenomena for ages but better not.
Despite all that I fucking love this picture, I’d absolutely risk getting devoured by some supernatural entity for a pic like this.

#sorry for sounding pretentious again :3:3:3#perchance#just realized I change my writing style halfway through the post

this’ll be my little irregularly updated blog thingy so expect photos, doodles, short stories and poems maybe and like random thoughts where I think I sound profound (and maybe I do idk it could happen)
I just want it to be clear that maybe I go cray on here a bit don’t worry I’ll calm down eventually(perchance).
I like music, can’t live without it, I’m also into nature, photography, drawing, reading(even though I can’t focus for more than 20 mins at a time so my reading is going real slow), creepy stories, cryptids, conspiracies, weird stuff in general, all animals, cool ass lighters, death sticks, climbing stuff, old abandoned buildings, talking to people cuz I just love people so much man, small islands, the sea, the mountains, meadows and forests, movies, video games and I got a weird relationship with politics for sum reason but you’re not gonna see no politics here no Sir!!! This is just a fun lil’ blog!!
