Attina: That might work if it was Aquata, but unfortunately it was one of my other sisters.

Attina: That won't work, Dad knows you weren't with me last night, because I had dinner with him last night.

     Attina knew that Nala was right, and frowned in thought as she went over her schedule for the upcoming week. “Well, I think I’m free on Tuesday? It’s not even that I’m just working or anything either, but I’ve agreed to help out Adella and Arista on different days as well. Does Tuesday work for you?”

“Come on, Tina, you’re telling me you don’t have a single free night next week?” Nala leaned on the tall table in the Rose Lounge. “You work in a lounge and yet I scarcely see you lounging.”

TERENCE‌:

“Well, you know, some people like to have their space at the end of the day.” Being an introvert at heart, he was definitely one of them. He stepped into her home with a simple ‘thank you’. It wasn’t a place he found himself often in except once or twice before, so he followed her lead. “Oh, yeah? This is playing out too close to Hansel and Gretel for my liking,” he spoke with a chuckle, looking down at the cookies. It was then he realized he had left the book outside. “Oh, um, I actually stopped by to drop off a book you forgot to take with you last time. I would hand it over now, but— I don’t want to go through your mailbox unannounced.”

     “Oh, well it doesn’t bother me at all -- I haven’t had uninterrupted space since Alana was born,” she pointed out, a fond smile on her face at the thought of her sisters. “Don’t worry, my oven isn’t nearly big enough for a folktale such as that. I do appreciate you bringing the book back, I couldn’t remember where it’d been left.”

MOANA‌:

❝  I’M  GLAD  I’M  HERE  TOO  ,  and  I  would  love  to  watch  some  Indy  with  you  ,  ❞  her  voice  is  shaky  ,  but  she  starts  to  feel  like  herself  again�� in  the  presence  of  a  familiar  face  .  ❝  I  feel  like  so  much  has  happened  in  the  past  few  hours  ,  staring  at  Harrison  Ford  will  be  a  nice  distraction  .  ❞

     “He always is,” Attina agreed. “And then perhaps afterward you’ll be up for talking about what’s going on? Otherwise, there are three more Indy movies to give you some time.”

DINAH‌:

“Oh thank you! you’re too nice.” Dinah says while following the other into her home. In the back of her mind the voice of her mother gives her some lecture on how she’s abusing Attina’s generosity, but before the girl could say spare clothes weren’t really necessary, the other had returned with them in hand. Now it would be for more rude to refuse. Dinah accepts them with a smile and nods at the given instructions while setting the book down on one on a table. A couple of minutes later she’s changed into some very cozy and warm clothes and is now walking out of the bathroom with both hands on her hips. “Where did you get such comfy sweats? they’re so nice.”

     “You know, I’m actually not quite sure,” Attina admitted. “They’re either just a pair of mine, or a pair one of my many sisters left behind after a sleepover.” By the time Dinah had come back from changing, the cocoa had been made and sat on her island countertop, where a free barstool was for her to sit. “Warming up?”

LILO‌:

Lilo practically jumped for joy, nodding her hands as well, “Yes! Oh my gosh that sounds absolutely wonderful! Uhm - should I bring something? I should probably contribute as well, right?” 

    “Perhaps you could bring some lemonade or water? We’ll certainly need to stay hydrated with the heat forecasted for tomorrow. Otherwise, you just bring your adorable self and your board. And sunscreen. Please wear sunscreen.”

CARA‌:

“It’s not really a project,” she replied, walking behind the girl and taking in everything she can around the house. “It’s mostly just my own fascination. I’ve got loads of pictures from the pier, New Holland… Some Little SanFransokyo… I just like taking pictures around town.” 

    “Oh, even better! Well absolutely, I’d be happy to help you in any way I can ... how exactly can I help?” Attina asked as she set the cocoa back in front of the girl.

CARA:

Cara didn’t expect such a warm welcome, but she was starting to realize this town had more nice adults than it did rude. “Oh! Uhm, well…. Hot cocoa actually sounds delicious,” she laughed, still caught off guard. “I was just… wondering if I could ask you a few questions? I know you work down at the Rose Lounge, right? And I really wanna take pictures there… so yeah.” 

     Attina ushered Cara through her door as she nodded, “I do! And absolutely, you can ask me anything you’d like. Are you wanting to take pictures for a project, or ...?” She trailed off, leading Cara into the kitchen where she got to work on the cocoa.

MOANA  OFFERS  A  FAINT  SMILE  ,   coming  back  into  herself  as  she  sheds  the  stress  of  the  evening  .  ❝  Cocoa  sounds  great  ,  but  please  don’t  like  go  out  of  your  way  like  I  will  be  fine  …   i  just  needed  to  get  out  of  my  house  .  I  don’t  want  to  distract  any  further  from   any  plans  you  might’ve  had  or  if  you’re  tired  or  anything  .  You  know  ?  Like  please  don’t  let  me  change  your  night  .  ❞  She’s  not  sure  if  she’s   making  sense  ,  exhausted  as  is  and  just  wanting  to  let  how  she’s  feeling  out  —  except  for  her  feelings  in  her  mind  aren’t  being  translated  to  her  lips  ,  which  is  frustrating  her  further  ,  how  she  can  be  so  stuck  yet  moved  at  the  same  time  . 

     “Well, I’m glad you came here.” Attina gave the girl a sympathetic smile, though not at all condescending. Like many of her sisters’ friends -- and most people she knows, honestly -- Attina felt a kinship to Moana and viewed and treated her the same she did family. “Come on then, if you don’t want me to alter my night. Care to join me for some Raiders of the Lost Ark to go with our cocoa and cookies?”
