Create something today! Even if it's recreating yourself!

Today's self care tip is the compliment jar. We're all our worst critics- especially creative people. When you're tearing down on yourself reach into your compliment jar and remind yourself exactly who you are to get back into a positive mind space. Get a jar, box, whatever suits your fancy, and fill it with little pieces of paper that have notes on them that say great things about you and remind you of how far you've come. Even have friends and loved ones write good things about you and stick them in for a little affirmation. We all need to be reminded sometimes. Take care of yourself out there, fam!

Today we mourn upon hearing the news of Linkin Park's lead singer #ChesterBennington 's death, and send out prayers and condolences to his family, friends and fans. At Atitévision we stress the importance of mental health and mental health awareness and want to take this opportunity to remind our creative community to continue to take care of themselves and to check in on their fellow fam. We all can prevent suicide. If you or your loved one are in distress, The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides free, confidential support with prevention and crisis resources. Call 1-800-273-8255. Suicide is not inevitable for everyone but we can start the conversation, give support and direct help to those who need it. You are worth the fight.

Meet Amirah (@lookn_themirah), an #MUA from Fayetteville, NC who aspires to inspire others with beauty. Her recent moves in opening @facecafenc and @facecafebeautybar have led her to amplifying a plethora of faces, even to famous faces like #CardiB! --------------------------------- "I just want others to not only feel beautiful on the outside but also beautiful on the inside when they come and see me. That's it's okay wear makeup! To also not be afraid to try something new and perfecting it. I played in makeup one night and haven't been out of it since then."

At just 24 years old, @chancetherapper is now the youngest recipient of BET's Humanitarian Award. -------------- Through his SocialWorks charity, Chance aims to empower youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement while fostering leadership, accessibility, and positivity within the youth throughout Chicago. ---------------------- Chance himself has donated 1 million dollars to arts and enrichment programs for Chicago Public Schools. The donation he says was made possible by his fans. Chance used money earned from his spring tour to fund the hefty donation. His charity has already pledged to donate $10,000 to specific a Chicago school for every $100,000 donated by a company, in efforts to help the city's schools climb out of $215 million budget gap. --------------------- Chance is a true embodiment of everything that we push here at Atitévision: creating, being yourself, inspiring others and GIVING BACK. No matter your age, you have the power to change a life in your community. Be the change you wish to see!

Meet Ryan Pham (@ryanpham), an artist- specifically a dancer, photographer and cinematographer. When it comes to getting started, Ryan says the best thing to do is to hop straight into your craft just how you are, as long as you dedicate the time. "I grew up with this mindset that you need to be privileged to be able to have all these "toys" or "Gear" to be able to hop in. You don't- it may take a bit longer but you can be just as good. I keep old temps of my previous work sometimes just to show to growth- and upon getting to know me I let people know you can still stay true to who you are and not have to sacrifice your morality to get to where you want. It just takes time. " Ryan has his mindset on giving back. "I want to essentially start up a creative arts studio as well to REALLY merge the different sort of genres out there too. We'd put together performances and work together and on the days that we aren't doing that, then we would try to work together and find a way to give back to the community. Maybe start a charity." And of course, as we do for every artist, we asked him about his "why". Why does he do it all? "Ultimately that's how I want to aspire to inspire everyone around me. As an artist/creative I feel like it's an ongoing duty to make sure "art" doesn't die - moreso.. bring it back to life"
