OK but that ending was 100% censorship bullshit, in the book they go off to travel together as husbands. Even in the directors cut of the Untamed they meet again after parting.
The ending of episode 50 of The Untamed...
Hit me hard as fuck.
It was a good ending I'll be honest. To see Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji part ways like that hurt me a lot. I really wanted them to stay with each other, walk with each other on the same path.
But of course, that wasn't the case.
Anyhow, I loved this series as much as the animated version. I'm not sure if I wanna read the novel or not, maybe I will.
I highly recommend this series as a whole. 14/10 it's very beautiful, amazing. The music is just amazing. I'd recommend starting with anime and them live-action or novel, but that's up to you really.

Thanks!  I actually made this costume and I’m the person wearing it, they scouted me at Dragoncon to come and spend 4 days at a mock convention to end up in the film for 5 seconds.  It was fun and I made money, the costume is based on Rotodisk’s Underkeep fan art.
so in Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul not only is there a let’s player but also an Undertale cosplayer

I’m so emotionally attached to Because This Is My First Life not only because it’s breaking so many tropes that Korean Dramas fall under, but even WESTERN tv shows!
Western TV shows that pride themselves on being progressive or feminst-y just don’t make the cut. They always fail in some way, or become so unbearably preachy that you can tell that they are clearly written by adult men who have absolutely no understanding of their targeted audience (millenial females).
This Korean show, written by a woman nonetheless!, is the opposite of what I’ve become so used to in both Korean and Western tv shows that I almost cried when I first began to watch it. I was genuinely laughing, crying, and just feeling for each character because this writer understands the struggles she writes about. The reason it works so well is because the show never once labeled itself as progressive. The description is as cliché as it comes, but the storyline I’ve grown so invested in is anything but. It sets the show up for every cliché possible but within 10 episodes it has managed to slowly break through the framework and paint something completely new on it’s canvas. It’s a romance, but still focuses on it’s other genres. The romance is natural, the actors do it so much justice. It’s not even preachy with it’s beautiful feminist undertones, giving us three gorgeous female leads who are all different but no where near distant or ranked in imortance, paired with three adorkable men who break the mold of Korean male leads everwhere.
Hell, even western male leads!
In short, I just really love this show and I’m glad I’m seeing more and more people joining in on the little fandom that we have.
Also, I’m sorry for all the posts. I should really stop getting shook whenever I see an episode. For some reason, they just keep getting better and better.

can we talk for a moment about soo ji from Because it’s My First Life because that woman truly is amazing and the only female kdrama character I’ve seen that is that way. She has an active sexual life that she isn’t ashamed of, she smokes, she doesn’t wear a bra even when Ho Ran is all the time telling her to wear one and to cover up because it’s too noticeable, she has to put up with sexual harassment from her boss and being constantly talked down by her male co-workers and she can’t do nothing about it because it will probably make her lose her job, however that doesn’t make her any less of a strong character and woman being that she isn’t afraid to put them their limits once in a while (“don’t delete that bikini picture you took on the beach” “okay, but don’t like it, that would be creepy”) we also have Ho Rang who is obsessed with marriage and forming a family with her boyfriend of seven years, and when she was bawling her eyes out saying how she can’t get married being in her 30’s and how she won’t be able to get pregnant because she’s getting old Soo Ji went off saying how marriage is nothing and to stop objectifying herself as just a womb (which is pretty fucking amazing for a female character in a kdrama if you ask me, considering that most of them are like Ho Rang to some extent) so yeah, she’s amazing and I really appreciate having a character like her in a kdrama

It’s official. Because This is My First Life is the most feminist kdrama I’ve watched. What’s even more amazing is it didn’t even tout itself to be all that before premiere, unlike some other dramas that did (and ended up being a disappointment). No other kdrama has validated women’s daily struggles in life as much as this one has, and the way they went about doing it is subtle and woven seamlessly into the story. (If you thought Ah Min Hyuk was the best feminist one could find in kdrama male leads, well, clearly you haven’t met Nam Sae Hee yet.)
This show is just so unassuming and low-key in everything it does. The premise was as cliche as it comes on paper, but once you’ve hit ep 2, you’ll find yourself in awe by the story, by the writer. I haven’t had the pleasure to watch such an earnest, down-to-earth drama in a long while, one that is so in tune with this generation that my heart aches. For the characters. For myself. For us. It’s a story that speaks to the struggles we face in trying to carve out a space for ourselves amidst this turbulent world, and girrrl, what an arduous journey it is. But we tread on anyway, because we must, because that’s how life goes. We just live and live and live, praying that by the time we reach the end, we can think to ourselves that it was a worthwhile one, that we got somewhere, did something, loved someone, and along the way, became a better person somehow. Everything is a first, and everything is the last. We only get one chance, one life, so let’s give it our best shot, yeah? That’s the message I got so far with this drama, and I’m only on ep 10.
This writer is a must-watch-out for years to come if they keep up this kind of mastery in story-telling. For now, take care of my heart until the final hour, yeah writer-nim?

Nirvana in Fire 2
Spoilers ahoy!
Watching this right after the first one is fucking me up. Like to think thay after all they did to clear prince Qi’s name Prince Jing had to deal with one his kids trying to kill him(is this what happened? Or was he just so courupt he was sentenced to death? It seems like this should be the case for something to be serious enough to sentence a prince to death) And Teng Ming, the one he trusted the most was the one who brought the case forward, so he know’s it’s most likely legit, but he goes super easy on the family as he knows how awful it was when the blaze army case happened and thousands died.
I could just see this whole situation tearing him apart emotionally. He did so much to try and become a good ruller and be a good dad to his kids, adopted or not.
Ughhh I’m having way too many feel about this right now.

Go Back Couple -Kdrama recommendation
Tumblr media
So I’m back with another Drama recommendation! So, I just finished watching “Go Back Couple” and I loved it!
If you don’t already know this drama is about a married couple, who are very unhappy with each other. The first episode starts off with their divorce, and they both agreed that if they could go back in time they wouldn’t even date each other. Of course thanks to kdrama magic they get sent back in time to their college days. I know this trope sounds overdone, but this drama did an amazing job at pulling it off.
First of all the characters are well developed. Not just our main couple, but every character in this show. I think thats why I liked this show so much. When I was watching it, I was never on just the wife’s side, or just the husband’s side. I could see the faults in both of them, and at the same time see how much they tried for each other. I feel that’s where it differed from other similar dramas like ‘Cunning Single Women’ or ‘Emergency Couple’. In those dramas I pretty much only cared about the wife, but in ‘Go Back Couple’ I desperately needed the happiness of both of them.
On a side note I’ve never felt more confused when watching this because I loved the male lead, but I also had second lead syndrome. I honestly don’t know how that works. I think that just goes to show how well the characters were written. Same with the second female lead, I never had a moment where I disliked her.
This drama was full of comedy, but it also had many heartfelt moments that were not over the top. I normally don’t cry when watching shows, but I teared up a few times watching this. It was interesting to see them go back to their youth with all the knowledge they had as adults. For example the way they treated their parents drastically changes when they went back. (At least for Ma Jin Joo, the wife) Or how the husband reacted when he meet his horrible boss in the past.
Overall this drama felt very realistic. I’m not talking about the time traveling. I mean the emotions were real. I feel like a lot of people would be able to relate to the characters especially when you think about growing older. It really emphasizes that when you face hardships it’s easy to forget the people who care, but it’s not too late to change that.
I’m not good at reviewing so please just go watch it for yourself. It’s only 12 episodes, and it defiantly deserves more hype :)
