Happy 2013 everyone!
This first post for the year comes from Abu Dhabi International Airport.
Here at Abu Dhabi, we caught a 7am sunrise, golden elephant statues, cool patterns and I even got a morning wink out of Alice!!
We are on our way to Berlin for Berlinale Film Festival! Our next flight departs to Munich… very soon actually!!
Alice has a film premiering over there called The Rocket - check her FB page for the trailer - it is EPIC!
I'll be updating our trip on aterje.com and our FB pages daily so check in for the latest from Berlin and Prague!
Lots of love

Where on earth have I been!?!? Studying communication design at Billy Blue. Here is one of the projects I've been working on - a music festival poster.
For my piece, I based it around a winter music festival in Thredbo, a great alpine village in Australia's Snowy Mountain region. The event is aimed at 18-35s from Sydney in the music/arts/culture scene and its periphery.
The idea was that it represented the snow lifestyle in an accessible, friendly and nostalgic kind of way. The use of the font Cooper Black for the 'Shredfest' event title helped make this possible, linked up with the retro mountain logo at the top.
I received a High Distinction for this piece, but I think the exciting thought of this event was the main buzz - everyone I spoke to about it was psyched on it!
Enjoy and happy shredding!

An ATERJÉ DECONSTRUCTION - Outdoor Public Shade and Social Structure
This is a conceptual piece I completed for design school this week.
It is based on ideas of deconstruction in architecture.
The model shows how you can walk through underneath the sculpture, whilst a completely different view is experienced from other angles.
It was made using cardboard and tape, and was inspired by the creative approach of the famous architect, Frank Gehry.
When you see his buildings and how he makes them, you think about how awesome it is when something like this gets built.
I would love to make more of these as it was that much fun the first time around.
Enjoy it as much as I did.
Love, Aterjé

From Wikipedia
Us Now is a documentary film project "about the power of mass collaboration, the government and the Internet"[1] The New York Times describes it as a film which "paints a future in which every citizen is connected to the state as easily as to Facebook, choosing policies, questioning politicians, collaborating with neighbours."[2]
The documentary weaves together the perceptions of leading thinkers on the power of the web, with the overriding suggestion that people gain a sense of satisfaction from active participation rather than symbolic representation in decision-making processes.[3] (Rebecca Frankel, editor of Channel 4's FourDocs)
