thinking about how vala had to constantly stick to the shadows and hide while they lived in minrathous, scrapping by with digging through the trash and begging on the streets and stealing what they needed to survive until the next day. getting found by a shadow dragon, being shown kindness in a place where elves and non mages are looked down on as lessers. deciding that they wanted to help people like them, too. finding a home within the shadow dragons, wanting to fight for a better tevinter and a brighter tomorrow. how they were so confident in the shadow dragons that they believed that minrathous would be okay if they aided treviso first. how they saw so many friends and people they knew, people they helped before, back on the streets and dying and suffering. seeing the only place they ever considered a safe spot ruined and broken. the anger and distrust and frustration that the remaining shadows felt towards them. only ever going back to dock town when they had to because they couldn't bear to see what the venatori had done. the countless days they couldn't sleep because all they saw when they closed their eyes was the ravaged city they failed to protect. their city. their home.
and now vala is back to having nothing all over again.

i think the real reason Lucanis has a coffee addiction is so the animators had an excuse to show just how good they are at making characters hold cups now.
like look at that. its not floating 6 inches away from his palms. it goes up and down with his hands. he's even got one hand on the handle itself! we've come so far since the hilarious joining chalice animation in Origins and Solas's cup of misery tea that floats 4 seconds behind his arm movements

i made a new rook and she looks so PRETTY i cant wait to gif her ....
#[ interact ]#the worst thing about making so many chars is i dont have that many quizzies to match them#i dont have world states or like a specific quizzy that i am attached to. they are just a means to an end (playing the game)#and i dont like any of the presets really but i dont wanna make a whole other character when i spent so long making my rook!!!#also SPOILER???????#i really dont think theyre necessary in the game considering they do pretty much absolutely nothing.#theres no new information that they really give that has to be given by them. and i feel like the SPOILER ->#'good' ending with mythal is. very.... not good and i think one reason is bc they added the quizzy for basically no reason#BUT thats also probably bc i have no attachment to said quizzy and certainly no attachment to quizzy+solas relationship#anyway.
