Vet: Sir I think your dog might have -very serious condition- that we need to treat ASAP.

Person: *declines all diagnostics except a single x-ray*

Vet: Sir the board-certified radiologist also thinks your dog might have -the same very serious condition- that we need to treat ASAP. We don't have the ability to treat it here, so you'll have to go to a specialist. Here is a list of specialists at clinics within 20 miles that are open 24/7 and take walk-ins. If you don't take care of this promptly your dog could die.

Person: *takes dog home and does nothing*

Dog: *dies 12 hours later*

Person: YOU KILLED MY DOG!!!!

If anyone says that a vet killed their pet, please be very very skeptical and ask for all of the details. I see this shit all the time. You can't just ignore everything the vet tells you and then get angry when your animal dies. Its shit like this that makes the suicide rate among veterinarians over twice the national average.
