You really think that crazy doesn't run in the family? That nothing of who my father was didn't somehow get passed down on to me? You of all people should know that's true. I'm just sayin'... The man that I am, the things that I've done - at least it all makes a little bit more sense now.

"Look, lady, I'm the one doin' the asking around here. All you gotta' do is talk." If not, there were other means of getting the information out of her. Good ol' hand to hand combat.

It may have looked rather creepy, the way blue eyes flicked over a face with a scar, but she was just trying to figure out if Claire knew him. “Who exactly is asking?” Boy, did he look familiar, himself.

"We were all good until you sold me that faulty product." Not that he was really complaining that the stuff didn't work. Especially finding out what it did to the others. Arms were crossed, but he wasn't feeling threatened by her presence at all. If anything, he was amused.
Amused that she would even think about approaching him.
"You know, lady, I ought to get a refund -- one way or another."

"Funny, I don’t recall our past being quite so bad.” Then again, where were you — Wesker Jr.? I remember your face perfectly. Couldn’t blame him for the Carla incident, but it’s just much more fun to string it along. After-all she had sought him out for a reason. Indirectly, he might just owe the Spy a favor or two.

"Sorry -- must've got the wrong idea with the whole collar and leash vibe you two got goin' on. I mean, the dude only had to yank your chain to keep you from shooting me. Rather interesting relationship."
This interaction would prove to be a good time waster.

[ Oh, christ. Piers knows that voice. ]
“—I know, fantastic right. One would think that you were making it a conscience habit.”
“Out. Running errands. Going to see Claire? You know, I’m not basically attached to his hip all the time.”

A glance down at the small envelope and then a smirk slid across his features. Eyes flickered back up to her face, a huff escaping from his lips. "-- This is a joke, right? This all you got?"
Using his hand to point over to a tree across the street, he spoke with a stern voice. "This'll get you to across the street. And I'm bein' nice with that."
Pushing the paper back at her, his fingers spread open the blinds, gazing out into the street which was ensuing with chaos -- those things were all over the place, not something Jake wanted another go at.
"Look, if you can't pay, don't waste my time. Ain't that hard of math."

“— I was told I could pay when I was out of here; no need to be an ass about it, man.” She’ll let the backpack fall off her shoulders so she could rummage through it for a small envelope which was handed over before the backpack was slung over her shoulders. “There! Christ.”

" -- Glad to know we're on the same page. So. I'm assuming you've got a reason for showing up. Or do you normally check up on your ex clients to see if they gave into your poison? Which, by the way, I want a full refund. Maybe some extra, for... emotional trauma."

"Sherry Birkin -- it's been a long time."
Well, merely a few months, give or take. But time seemed to drag on when he was without her by his side. You know, not in the cheesy kind of way.
