I’m still tweaking it, but something the Visible app has hammered home these past few weeks is just how much energy my body expends existing.

Currently lying perfectly still and I’m in the ‘exertion zone’ because I’m in so much nerve pain it's making my heart rate elevate.

Being in pain is burning up my pace points. I’ve used two since I woke up this morning simply by being conscious.

Anyone who dismisses the effects of chronic pain on the body or tells you to exercise to push through it is formally invited to throw themselves into the sun.

The way you change your immediate reactions to things is that you catch yourself having an uncharitable/bigoted/overly judgmental thought and you catch it and replace it and then you do that a hundred times a day for your whole life and eventually one day like five years later you realize that you think differently now and you’ll always be working on something but that’s how life goes and that’s fine.

I keep seeing different types of Famous and Well Awarded Movie Directors talk about how cinema is dead due to streaming, and, yeah I’m not gonna deny that streaming plays a huge role in the decline of movie going in recent years. But if regular people (aka your average moviegoer) had more money and things were a little less life or death out here in the real world, than people would be more able and willing to spend money on the actual moviegoing experience over just streaming. Yeah, streaming is great on a weeknight in your living room, but I would be 10000 times more willing to regularly go to the movie theater if it seemed a reasonable expense in this financial climate. It’s much more cost effective to pay for 1 streaming service for 1/4 of every movie ever made and or pirating movies in comfort of the home I pay for, with the WiFi, electricity, water, and food, I pay out the ass for. Why should I pay 12 more dollars to see one high budget no imagination movie or even a mid budget movie I don’t know if I’m even going to like, plus transit, when that can be enough for a full meal, and also about the same price I pay for streaming? I get that the prices of movie tickets are so high to keep the building running, and to pay back all that was spent making the film. But movie producers will not be able to keep making more and more expensive movies to draw people in the door ad infinitum. Matt Damon said once that mid budget movies that were his bread and butter at the start of his career are just not possible to make anymore because people don’t go see them. People cannot go see movies with money they don’t have. At some point Hollywood needs to seriously advocate for wealth redistribution and price fixing or else the movie industry and the art it makes are pretty much doomed.

Metal Gear Rising really was a game that screeched about how the violence of the oppressed is caused by the violence of their oppressors and therefore the two aren’t equal, but also violence is dehumanizing so be grateful for those who fight since they’ve martyred their souls for you and packed all that into 4 hours.

At the same time, it also had the weirdest fucking dialogue in video games like “MEMES, THE DNA OF THE SOUL!” and had its main antagonist literally say “make America Great Again” three years before the U.S elections

Please remember intersex people during these next 4 years. To support and worry about us too, not just perisex trans people. Intersex people are fully affected by the idea of "only male and female allowed" laws. Intersex people are affected by anti trans laws even if not all of us are trans. Many of us can't pass or hide our features, similar to how some trans people can't. We (the systems body) for example are physically incapable of passing as "cis" unless we get surgeries and hormones which still wouldn't change the fact we're intersex. We can't blend in, we get clocked as "queer looking" no matter what we wear or how we act. Don't forget about us when making posts about protecting trans and queer people. - ❔️

Like I do not believe the vast majority of trads have a "humiliation fetish" or a "dom/sub fetish" or whatever that they're externalizing as politics. I think they are misogynists who want to subjugate women. They do not see submission as a keyfabe to be put on in the bedroom for their personal enjoyment, they see it as a social hierarchy that everyone should be forced to subscribe to because they see women as objects.

I'm sure some of these guys get off on humiliating women as well, but I don't think that's the root of it. I think that's just their political beliefs manifesting in their sexuality, not their sexuality dictating their political beliefs. A dyed in the wool kinkster likely does not think that being a dom in the bedroom means they should dominate entire groups of people in nonsexual contexts. These people just hate women and think their place in the world is submitting to men. To suggest otherwise feels reductive at best.
