Bendy Crossover Timeline

So, in order for Bendy to conceivably be able to meet the two cup brothers in the 1930′s shortly after the events of their game, I condensed and rearranged the timeline of events of the Bendy games. (There's a promotional recording from Thomas Connor on the Joey Drew Studios Youtube channel where he talks about installing The Ink Machine in 1943, so canonically Bendy couldn't have been made before that.) So, instead of having his first cartoon premiere in 1929 in this continuity he was a silent cartoon star in the 1920′s akin to Felix the Cat. And, much like Felix, when sound cartoons came around Bendy’s cartoons became outdated and irrelevant. The studio tried incorporating sound into the cartoons, hiring voice actors and even a music director, but they couldn’t compete with the cartoons that had sound from the beginning, lazily dubbing in music and voices to the original silent cartoons in a way that clashed. So Joey decided to take it a step further. He’s like “Fine! The people want sound! I’ll give them sound! And heck, they’ll be able to touch the cartoons too! We’ll get the whole five senses involved!” Then he got to work trying to bring cartoons to life. This also means that Henry isn’t an old man in this. He’s in his 30′s-40′s, and he left the studio about 10-15 years ago, not 30.

Bendy’s Power Set: 

Can use ink to create objects temporarily, one hit will make it dissolve. Bendy normally uses this ability to create temporary ink shields for his friends, as they don’t have a block ability. Will also use this ability to create ink bullets, mimicking his friends peashooter ability. 

Cannot use any of the potions from Porkrind’s. It’s my headcanon that they work by the cups pouring them into their heads thus non-cups cannot use them. He can use the charms though. 

Can create an ink tidal wave as a screen clearing ability (analogous to Cuphead and Mugman’s beam attack or Ms. Chalice’s ghostly barrage. Think of it as one of his supers.) 

Slightly more durable than Cuphead or Mugman. About the same toughness as Chalice.  (Unless he’s in either his Ink Demon or Beast Bendy form, then he’s much stronger.) 

Can double parry. (One for each horn, Cuphead and Mugman taught him that one.) 

Can use inky tendrils to restrain or grab someone. Will sometimes be used to try and restrain enemies. (It can be broken out of, especially if the enemy is huge compared to the size of Bendy.) But is also used to catch a cup that is currently falling or about to fall. 

Can turn into his Ink Demon form or his Beast Bendy form. (Bendy will try everything he can to avoid using this form as he cannot control himself in it. It’s basically a super-powered evil side for him. Get him angry enough though, and sometimes he can’t help it.) Will sometimes also use a more mild form of shapeshifting where he’ll give himself claws and sharp teeth if in melee range. 

Can have shadowy tendrils that hurt people in their range, but this only pops up when he’s having a panic attack so he cannot control this. 

Can melt.

“Henry?! Uh…no! Nope, never heard of him. In fact, let’s all forget we ever heard that name, alright?!”

“Nah, I’m not homeless, well, not really. I’ve been staying with the cups until I can sort something out. I want to stay on the isles though, I like it here! Even if some of the people here can be a bit….unfriendly.”

Really Chalice? I get that His Ink abilities Can Make Bendy go from a Solid to a Fluid & back again with merely a thought. But I've always Thought of Bendy felling Furry more than anything. Honestly, He Looks & Behaves like such a Cute & Curious Kitten. You'd think if You'd Stroke Bendy's Back, He'd all of a sudden Purr in response. Speaking of Whom. Hey Bendy, What was it Like to Hug, Chalice?

((I’ve never seen Bendy as furry personally, but I respect y’all’s headcanons. This is just my two cents on it.))

“No? No fur. He’s more smooth and glossy feeling.” Cuphead started cackling in the background.

“You’re right! He does act like a curious kitten!” Cuphead said, giggling.

“What? I do not!” Bendy protested.

“Yeah, you do. You’re all like “I’ve never seen this before! I’m gonna get real close to it and see what happens!””

“You’re one to talk! You’re worse than me!”

“Am not!”

“You once got us lost in a cave because you thought you saw something shiny.”

“To be fair, I thought there was a treasure hoard in there and I was totally going to share it with you guys.”

So Chalice. What was it like to Hug, Bendy?

“Kinda strange, but not unpleasant. Bendy’s solid, but just barely. Kinda like gelatin. Of course, normally as a ghost I’m less solid than he is.”

To Everybody. Do You Like Being Hugged?

“I do!” Mugman piped up.

“I guess so. Only from family and close friends though.” Cuphead answered.

“I’m not sure.” Bendy replied. “I haven’t been hugged that often. I liked it when I have been though. So I guess yes.”

“I do. I like it better when I have a body though, and can actually, you know, feel it.” Answered Ms chalice.

(Neither gets many hugs. So they just decided to hug each other.)

You are a very kind, considerate & empathetic Toon Demon, Bendy. Cuphead, Mugman, Chalice, I bet You all are very lucky to have Him as a Friend. Even though both The Devil & Saltbaker Have Faced Justice at Your hands. But there are other villains out there. Should You all continue to Use Your Powers for Justice, I'm Sure Bendy will be very Much a Powerful & Valuable Ally Just as Much as He is a Companion & Friend. I understand You doubt this to be the case. But You are Strong, Bendy.

“I think you’re overselling me anon. By a lot. But thank you. That’s really sweet.”

“Oh, we already know how powerful he is.” Mugman said. “Or at least, we do now. When we first met him we didn’t think he had any powers, and he didn’t exactly correct us. The problem is, even though he’s powerful, he doesn’t have much control. We’re working with him to try and control his powers better, but he’s still too afraid to try anything too risky. Still, we’re lucky that we’ve got such a powerful demon as a friend, rather than an enemy.”

“Using our powers for justice” huh? I like how that sounds.” Cuphead commented. “Makes us sound like superheroes”

“Says the guy who keeps turning invincible and running into things because he thinks it’s funny.” Mugman responded.

“Oh, like I haven’t seen you use the charge shot to light the fireplace.” Cuphead shot back.

“It’s practical and it’s easier than using a match!”

Bendy, Have You ever thought of using Your Ink to Create a Body for Miss. Chalice or do You feel that because Your Ink is like "Dark Magic" It wouldn't out for her?

“Well, I couldn’t do that, at least not directly. That would take a lot of ink. Plus, anything I make disappears after a while, maybe that’ll stop when I get more practice, but that’s how it is for now. ((You know how in the fight with Brute Boris everything you make dissolves after one hit? Bendy’s ink powers work the same way.))

“The issue is that Chalice wants to go back to the studio and use the ink machine to make herself a new body, and I really don’t want her to. I can understand wanting to be alive, but I’m afraid something’s gonna go wrong. I was the closest thing to a success that the machine’s had, and look how I turned out! I don’t want her to end up as a pile of ink on the floor, or turning into a beast that she can’t control. I don’t want to condemn her to that kind of life. To my life.

Hey Bendy, Besides The Cup Brothers, Have you made any other Friends Here on the Inkwell Islands?

“I think I have! Me and Cuphead go over to the carnival to hang with Beppi sometimes, he seems to like me. He knows what it’s like to try and be funny but to come off as scary. We like to hang out with Dr Kahl and his robot sometimes too. I mean, it’s a robot! That’s so cool! And Dr Kahl seems so nice to the robot, even fighting alongside him to protect his soul. I haven’t seen that from a creator before.”

“Then there’s Ms. Chalice. She’s the boys’ other best friend, besides me. So we tend to hang out a lot. I like her! We both have a similar curious streak, we both want to make the most of being alive (when she gets to be anyways.) and she’s really nice (even if she sometimes gets too intrusive when questioning me.) She said she finds me interesting and I feel the same way about her. She’s been on the isles forever and has seen so much. She’s pretty cool. We’re still trying to find a way to bring her back to life permanently. Wish us luck!

Bendy what are Your Thoughts on Chef Saltbaker?

“Saltbaker? Well, there’s a reason he’s called “the best baker in the land.” His treats are so good! (Granted, his are the only ones I’ve had so far. But they’re still delicious.) I know that he once tried to bake Cuphead into a wondertart, which I am not a fan of. But he is trying to be better, and he’s always nice to me. Given that most of the people here run away at the sight of me that means a lot. Besides, it’s not like I have a squeaky clean history either, so I feel like I should give him a chance. Though if he tries to hurt any of my friends again there will be hell to pay.”

Bendy, do you miss Boris and Alice?

“I never knew them really.” Bendy answered. “They weren’t brought to life like I was, and I don’t have memories from the cartoons. I only saw them up on the screen, so how could I miss them?” Despite saying this, he got a little teary-eyed.

“You can still miss people you never knew.” Cuphead told him, voice cracking a bit at the end, like he was choking back a sob. “Stop it Cuphead.” He told himself, “this isn’t about you. Besides, you love living with Elder Kettle. Everything is fine.” Bendy only nodded in response.

What do You think of the Inkwell Islands so far, Bendy? Is there any particular Place there that You like to hang out at, More than anything?

“Oh, I love the Isles!” Bendy answered. “There are a lot of cool places here, the beach, the bustling city, the vibrant forest. But I think my favorite place here is the carnival on isle 2. It’s so fun, me and the cups go all the time.”

Cuphead, Mugman, what did you think when Bendy told you his backstory? Were you scared?

Cuphead looked around to see if Bendy was in the area before answering. “Honestly, nah, not really. When we first met him we thought he was an actual demon, like, from Hell. Between that and how cagey he was about his past, we were honestly expecting somethin’ worse. Like, that he had done somethin’ terrible to people and now regretted it. But a lot of terrible things happened to him instead. Don’t get me wrong, I’m certainly not happy that all that horrible stuff happened to ‘em, and I would kill Joey Drew if he wasn’t already dead, but it definitely didn’t scare me.”

“No! I wasn’t scared.” Mugman answered. “In fact, it made feel worse about being scared of him originally. I get why that upsets him so much now. Like Cuphead said, I thought he was an evil demon originally, when that couldn’t be further from the truth. I don’t know why he didn’t say something earlier, especially when we had that big fight. He could’ve shut me down when I was saying how demons don’t have friends, that they were soulless, by telling me that he wasn’t technically a demon, but he didn’t. I guess he’s just that ashamed of his past.”

“I really don’t get why.” Cuphead chimed in. “It’s not like he did anythin’ wrong. Plus he was a movie star and has some really cool powers! Why would he keep that stuff a secret?” Mugman shrugged.

“I guess if you’re told that you’re a monster enough, you start to believe it.” He replied.

Hey Bendy! You got a favorite food yet? What about your favorites, Cuphead and Mugman?

"Well, I like hotdogs personally." Cuphead said.

"Oh gee, I dunno." Mugman answered. "I love anything sweet, but I guess if I had to chose it would be chocolate chip cookies."

"And Bendy here likes bacon soup." Cuphead added.

"Yeah, yeah I do." Bendy admitted. "Joey Drew Studios had a partnership with the bacon soup company so I, or should I say "bendy", became their mascot for a while. I guess my fictional love of the soup carried over into my real life personality. It's definitely weird and kinda sad knowing that I only like a thing for advertising purposes, but it's definitely not the strangest thing about my existence, so I try to ignore it."

"Really? I didn't know that. I thought you just had a weird obsession with bacon soup." Cuphead chimed in.

"Yeah, explaining why I liked it so much would mean telling you guys about my backstory, and I wasn't going to do that over a can of bacon soup."
