roxy, i am freaking the fuck out about being possibly exposed to a cold sore. i have pretty bad OCD. i took my meds and some ativan, but nothing has calmed me down and i've started to make myself feel sick, like crying and runny nose and bad nausea. i really don't want to go work today either, that's how badly i'm freaking out . . .

hey ! the absolute worst case scenario of being exposed to a cold sore is that you might one day get a cold sore. and they aren’t bad ! think about it- a LOT of the population has herpes, and like.... how many times have you noticed a cold sore on another person’s face?

but MORE than likely, you didn’t get enough sustained exposure in the right way to contract anything.

general thoughts about Las Vegas? regardless if you've been.

never been, but it seems like hell to me. desert and casinos and tourists? ugh

a few of my friends who live there, though, say that real las vegas that isn’t the casino area is awesome and diverse and full of good food.

i’ll never be able to afford this ever in my life so i’ve never even entertained it !

Do you like to read about art history? If so, do you have any favorite books or art historians?

i do love ‘the rape of europa’ by lynn nicholas as i’ve talked about a few times but that’s more like... art in history than art history ! i do like to read about art history but i’ve never really done any past reading interesting articles. my mom is an artist and i feel like i have a pretty good working knowledge of art history without having done a lot of reading about it though if you have any questions about my dumb opinions.

Are you writing anywhere else these days?

not really- i post dumb stuff on twitter (citizendemento) but i’m really burnt out with personal writing. i’m in two writing classes and working on a project of my own so i don’t have a lot of energy for blogging type stuff !

yes in that i think it’s interesting but no in that i’ve never read anything in particular about it besides like, a hedy lamar biography

it depends. i am having a hard time thinking of what kind of alternate history i like. i like when people use alternate history for specific purposes, like exploring the trauma of the real history they’re bypassing, but i don’t like alternate history that’s just like, ‘wowwww mannn what if hitler won, wouldn’t that be shitty’

do you have a favorite historical documentary?

‘the rape of europa’ is pretty good. ‘shoah.’ ‘the fog of war’ if you’ve never seen it. ‘shake hands with the devil’ is another good one. ‘new year baby’ (about a cambodian family and their experiences with the cambodian genocide) was really good too. ‘waltz with bashir’ and ‘the act of killing’ are both two really good documentaries that kind of play with form a lot.

ALSO if super-intelligent aliens were real and like, formally revealed themselves to us and wanted to live among us, would you trust them? What do you think they'd look like? AND the most important question of all: pro or anti alien fucking?

1) i would trust any aliens about the same as i trust humans2) this is a loaded question3) i don’t really know what this question means. i wouldn’t have sex with an alien because i don’t want to put the work in to understand them. like i don’t want to sit around awkwardly listening to the voyager golden record for like 3 hours and trying to figure out how to flirt with a vapor.

What are your thoughts on Mothman?? Is he more moth-like or man-like? Does he adhere to the codes of human morality? Did he try to help people or was he an omen of doom? Will we ever see him again??

i’m not the mothman, i can’t speak with authority about his experience. it’s just a respect thing.

What's the best kind of ice cream to buy at the grocery store? I usually just get whatever the generic one is, but are there brands worth extra money?

i’m like... incredibly lactose intolerant so you’re kind of barking up the wrong bitch. i’ve heard that blue bell in the south/south west is amazing but we don’t even have it up here.

if i’m eating ice cream i usually eat ben & jerry’s coffee toffee crunch (formerly coffee heath bar crunch) but everyone i’ve ever offered a bite to thought it was disgusting !
