General Hux is annoying.

This is the general direction of Kylo Ren’s thoughts as he stands in the mostly-empty corridor. They’re somewhere in the upper decks of the Finalizer. Hux is standing in front of him, snarling something about having to reorganize the budget to accommodate Ren’s destructive tendencies, but Ren’s really not paying that much attention.

Hux’s voice, much like his entire personality, is abrasive. And Ren, frankly, has better things to do than stand here and endure the never-ending tirade.

So he isn’t exactly sure why he’s still here.

“And your foolish, juvenile tantrums are distracting me from building the greatest superweapon the galaxy has ever known. No matter what the Supreme Leader says, if this behavior continues, Ren, I will personally-”

“The Force is the greatest weapon the galaxy has ever known,” Ren says.

Hux’s mouth opens and closes, giving him a remarkable resemblance to a skidfish out of water.

“The Force,” he says, scathingly, “has not proven to be of any use to anyone thus far, except in the downfall of the Empire.”

Ren holds back a wordless snarl and instead takes an aggressive step forward, bringing him squarely into Hux’s personal space.

Hux looks up, eyes narrowing. Ren suspects he could feel Hux’s anger from a lightyear away, possibly without even trying.

“Don’t speak of the Force that way. You have no idea what I’m capable of.”

Reports indicate that Ren has destroyed one of the upper-deck training rooms. Afterward, I saw it myself, and the lightsaber burns everywhere are evidence enough for me. I will be attempting to reorganize the budget (again) to accommodate his destructive tendencies. If he were a salaried officer, it would certainly be coming out of his own funds, but Force users evidently have little use for credits. As things stand, I believe I will shuffle funds from the small weapons research and development department.

Sometimes I wish that Snoke would let me shoot him, but unfortunately he seems rather attached to his apprentice.

No news on the durasteel supply issue. It’s only been a day, but I expect that we’ll see results soon one way or another.

Today, I looked into the investigations of the durasteel (grade II) supply line for Starkiller Base. There seems to be a problem at the source, but all of my data indicates that the mines should be plentiful for years to come.

We are paying the same amount for the durasteel, but inventory reports on SKB indicate that we aren’t receiving the same amount each time. Sometimes it is less than we paid for, but never more. The new protocols calling for durasteel to be weighed before allowing the transport to leave the staging ground should help. Regardless, I will be ordering Commander Tafta to continue their investigation.

Ship was quiet today. I expect Ren was too busy recovering from his injury to destroy anything important.
