ADMIN: i didn’t want to make any out of character posts on this blog to stick to the theme, but oh man. my personal rule for running this blog was that the second i stopped enjoying it, i was abandoning it. i have to be honest, i’m getting very close to that point.

i know that it’s easy to think that you’re talking directly to a fictional character you love with this kind of blog, but please keep in mind that a real person is combing through these asks and writing responses. i have zero tolerance for freaks clogging up my ask box. i don’t care if you think you’re funny, sending weird and/or aggressive asks is not on.

Which weapons do you main?

warabi: i don’t play much, but when i do i usually go for dualies.

ikkan: i don’t turf anymore, but when i did, i played with a range blaster.

Do you gave favourite colors to switch your tentacles to

ikkan: funny you should ask. it’s purple, actually. my natural ink colour is a weird yellow-y shade.

warabi: i mean…i’m always a few colours at once. my hair can only shift on a gradient, it can’t be one solid colour. dunno why. i usually just have it primarily red, with the green and so on. it’s one of the more pleasing combinations, i think.

ikkan: oh cod, warabi does this awful thing every time.

warabi: no, it’s so good!

ikkan: it’s disgusting. he gets chips and a milkshake, and then…ugh, he takes the lid off and dips the chips into the shake. it’s absolutely horrendous.

warabi: no, i’m telling you, it’s really good. i can’t explain why, it just is.

ikkan: you see, i’m normal, so i usually just get a chicken burger meal deal. maybe with a frappe, if i feel so inclined.

warabi: you bore me.

whats yalls fav genre(s)?

ikkan: we did talk briefly about our music tastes here, but we can talk about it a little more.

warabi: we both listen to a lot of different genres. it’s part of being a good artist, gives us inspiration and all that. my favourite genres are stuff like edm, rap, breakcore, things like that, but ikkan has also gotten me into more rock and metal stuff.

ikkan: right now, i’m a big fan of shoegaze. i would love to experiment with it more. i also listen to a lot of metal genres, rock, punk, rap, almost anything. we’re both pretty into c-side right now.

originally, we were going to keep this up for maybe a week or two, but we’ve been enjoying answering your questions so much, that we’ve decided to keep running this blog indefinitely.

Hey ikkan why do some people call you Quinn in some magazines and media is that a fake name ?? Warabi what does mashup mean

ikkan: oh yeah, we got this one a lot. warabi’s is way easier to explain.

warabi: ugh, it’s kind of embarrassing, though. i used to go by mashup really early in my music career. an alias of sorts, i guess. some people still call me that, and it’s kinda funny. i don’t mind, though.

ikkan: quinn is a very long story. essentially, it was a nickname given to me by friends years ago, for….some reason, i actually can’t remember the story behind it. a few people picked up on it, and either used it to go along with the joke, or because they were somehow convinced that was my real name. it’s not, by the way, my real name is in fact ikkan.

warabi: i remember there was this huge debacle back in…december, i think. it was a relatively small thing before then, but the media started getting really confused as to what the whole deal was, which is what popularised the whole thing. it was really funny to watch, honestly.

ikkan: we still go through old videos and articles to listen to the conspiracy theories about our secret identities when we get bored.

warabi: we do. some people think we’re spies.

warabi: …we have our fair share.

ikkan: yeah, i have a couple from squid squad days too. we keep them in the studio at warabi’s place.

ikkan: do people still call me metalopod guy? that’s kinda funny.

warabi: yeah, they do.

ikkan: haha, wow. um…to be completely honest, i don’t have much of a preference. i mean, of course i prefer to play the one i’m known for, the one i’ve played since squid squad days. that one is my favourite purely for sentimental reasons, and it works for me. pearl houzuki recently gifted me a really nice six string bass, and it’s been fun getting to play around with that one as well.

ikkan: we’re only answering this because we have about thirty asks about this sat in our inbox right now, and it’s been a while since we last answered this question.

warabi: nah, we aren’t. i kinda get why you would think so, but it’s not like that. we’re definitely close, but not in a romance way.

ikkan: i don’t want to date anyone, and i probably won’t. now stop asking us about it.

Would you consider any collabs with any of the other bands?

ikkan: yeah, we’ve considered it before. it would be interesting to get some other people’s influence in our music.

warabi: i think a collab with off the hook would be fun, obviously. we’ve talked about it before, but we’ve always been too busy with other projects.

ikkan: i’ve been thinking that a collab with chirpy chips could be interesting as well. they’re a talented bunch, and i think chiptune metal could just be an untapped market.

warabi: yeah, i’m not so sure on that one.

How are you liking Splatsville?

warabi: oh yeah, we’ve been a few times! the food is really nice, honestly. they have really sick splatfests, too. one of my favourite cities i’ve ever been to, for sure.

ikkan: yeah, it’s pretty cool. i really like the way punk rock seems to dominate their music industry. there’s some very interesting stuff going on there. i wouldn’t mind living there one day, honestly. really warm, though.
