Favourite snack and food??
Hmm, durians are special to me for sentimental reasons, though I don't much like their texture. No food compares to traditional homey Rito food, though, especially Amali's cooking. Perhaps Link's dishes come close.
For snacks, typically traveling fare is whatever one can hunt or preserve, so I tend to eat a lot of dried fish. However, I'm currently on the outskirts of Hebra and have been enjoying the wildberries very much. There's something about the nearly frozen crisp outer skin and the way they pop in one's mouth that makes them a refreshing treat if one finds them while on the road.
We're fortunate to have so many growing near the village. I've heard that a talented horticulturalist has managed to get them to grow as far south as Gerudo Town. Perhaps on my—er, I mean—Kassette's next visit I will have to look for them.

Hey, Kass! We know you have a powerful singing voice, but are you a loud, messy sneezer or a quiet sneezer?
Ah, this is a bit embarrassing, but you'd hardly believe I was a baritone if you heard one of my sneezes. Cree says they sound like a shot arrow combined with the chirp of a red sparrow, albeit a particularly large one!

If I punch myself and it hurts, am I weak or am I strong?
Amali here, I'd say strong.
Ask an elixir professional first, but it sounds like your attack power has simply outpaced your toughness. if you'd like to balance it out, I'd recommend taking a tough elixir, though I personally prefer prioritizing mighty elixirs in combat.

Hi Kass. This is for both you and Amalli. How did you two feel when you found out you were going to have five children instead of one? Were you both shocked? Was it pretty hard in the beginning when they were babies? I'm sure you had plenty of help.
And Amalli, holy Hylia 5 eggs?! You had to have been so tired and craving a lot of calcium after that.
Amali here, Kass is mid-canyon flight on his way back right now.
Heavens, five eggs in one clutch would be quite shocking indeed! I've never heard of one that large, though I wouldn't be surprised to hear that it's possible; Saki could tell you more I'm sure. No, the girls are from two different clutches. You can tell by their names: Notts and Kotts are the eldest, and Genli, Cree, and Kheel are the youngest.
The younger clutch was definitely pretty tiring. We egg-layers do try to eat appropriately before laying, and it's traditional to eat some of the eggshell after hatching as well to recover some calcium, though some prefer to save the pretty painted pieces for a little while as a baby memory. Having a whole village around to help certainly makes it easier too!
Thank you for the question! Kass should be back any day now to answer more of them.

Did you know that if you were to scale up the bite force of a Macaw to your size then it would mean you’d have the bite force to bite through a hylian femur?

Good to know?

(to the author of the blog)
I just wanted to let you know that Kass plays the concertina, not the accordion. I myself had thought that for a while, but after searching 'kass accordion', I found a reddit post about how he doesn't play the accordion. And it's true! I searched up a concertina and all that stuff. You don't need to respond to this, but I think it's interesting and that the Zelda fandom needs to know the truth.
(OOC:
Hey, thanks for the ask, very astute of you! I play the accordion, so I swapped it out to make the recordings I put up more immersive. Revali has Kass's bandoneon (a type of concertina big in Argentina and Uruguay); the swap is explained in the reblogs under my pinned post.
Thanks again! Hopefully I can find a concertina and give Kass his back at some point!

As a fellow enjoyer of music myself, do have any particular favorite songs?
I like anything rock-based personally.
Ah yes, a fellow music lover! I have answered a similar question here, but one of my daughters has an answer of her own that I agree with very much. Ready, Kheel?
Ready! Oh hi Mr. Robbie! One of my favorite songs is the song we sing when racing to see who can fly the farthest! I don't think it has any rocks in it like your favorite music, but Dad says that it's as old as rocks, from way waaay back when Rito raced over the open sea.

You can pick either part and go back and forth. It's fun! Thanks for the question!

So out of curiosity, how exactly did you figure out when Link would arrive to the location of your songs when the towers went up? Like did you move around and wait until he showed up there? Did you get information on where he was going from the stable people? Were you in multiple places at once via the sheikah shadow clone technique? I’m just kind of confused how you worked that whole thing out.
PS. That Penn guy with the newspaper has been waiting at that hut you used during that adventure for like, weeks. I think he wants an interview with you.
Ah, thank you for the notice! I'm not sure who this Penn fellow is or why I'd have anything worth interviewing for, but I will stop by the old hut when I return.
While I'd certainly like to clone myself as the Sheikah do, I hardly had to. I could complete a circuit of the locations the songs speak of in roughly a fortnight, meditating at each for a while. Over the two or so years of Link's journey, fortune had plenty of opportunities to smile upon our crossing paths.
Tumblr media
The numbers were on our side as well. As Link uncovered secret after secret, my circuit became shorter and shorter. It was down to only one stop by Calamity's End, not counting stables. Link and I hunted down the last one together afterward, though I don't think he had much need for the rupees we found by then.

have you ever been to lookout landing before?
Not yet!
Amali mentioned something about a towered fort being built in Hyrule Field after the Upheaval. I suppose a little extra altitude is always a good thing.

Soooooo how do you and Amalie meet? I love hearing these kind of stories.
Tumblr media
Ah, me...we were both so young...
I did not grow up in Rito Village. My early years were spent apprenticing under my old teacher after a number of tumultuous events in my fledglinghood. I would accompany him on his searches for the Ancient Songs, always returning to the home he built at Washa's Bluff.
Tumblr media
I must confess that, at the time, I didn't appreciate these excursions as I should have. But while I was a reluctant traveler, Amali was a true adventurer.
You see, it's common for Rito to move out or take up an itinerant lifestyle for a short time in their adolescence, and occasionally also after entering their midlife. Visit any corner of Hyrule and you'll find us: chasing the winds, starting businesses, seeing the sights, or just getting away from it all.
A bold young Amali was on such a journey herself, and wherever she went she would run into this shy scrawny minstrel-in-training with tired feet. Our first meeting was in passing at the then newly established Lakeside Stable in Faron. She was hunting for durians to taste while I was going dizzy squinting at strange glyphs on decaying walls, and feeling very jealous of her while doing it.
Tumblr media
Eventually, I came to love my teacher's long trips, partly out of a genuine growing appreciation for the work, but in no small part due to the hope of crossing paths with a certain bundle of green-feathered confidence. Many meetings later, I'd tie a matrimonial band of that same green in pride of place upon my ankle.
We settled in the Village to start a different sort of adventure, but once the girls are all safely off on their own journeys, Amali and I plan to wander Hyrule once again.

How are you so pretty and colorful and stuff ive never seen any rito like you
Ho ho! I'm flattered, but as to your question—it's a fair one, especially these days. Let me see here...
Tumblr media
On a legendary timescale, the Rito are quite a young people in Hyrule; however, we have still been around long enough and settled so broadly that our features have differentiated somewhat. This is not unique to us, of course. Much the same is true of the Zora, and even the Gerudo and the Hylians share a very ancient ancestry, going by some sources.
The Village mostly comprises Rito with high-altitude heritage. They are associated with sharp eyesight and agile flight, though these are as much generalities as the old-fashioned saying about archers and singers and all that nonsense. It so happened that the settlements highest in the mountains were most able to evade the Calamity's devastation, which is why the Village is the largest Hyrulian Rito settlement post-Calamity.
As for myself, I suppose I might label myself a Rito of the rainy forests. Even before the Calamity, most of my sort had moved out of the woods and into Hylian settlements or out to the coast. Out of those spared Ganon's destruction, many chose to attempt an oversea escape, off to no one knows where. I pray they found what they were looking for; the Rito were originally an islander people, after all.
All in all, the color in my plumage is perhaps analogous to—and these days about as consequential as—the skin tone of the Hylians of Lurelin, whose sunny days I am quite envious of at the moment.

You know I just realized something. Whenever anyone you knew arrived on this strange platform, you always gave them a passing mention or acknowledged their arrive here from their announcement. But you never did that for your best friend Harth. Is there a reason why?
(Out of character response cause I am struggling to answer as Teba lol)
Hi!! I was actually intending to make a reblog post for @asktheritobowyer a while back, but since school started for me (and was spending time with family during holidays) I haven’t been able to interact with the blog much (cries in evolutionary genomics and eukaryotic gene expression 💀). Also when Revali’s teenage drama started and people were bringing Teba in, I thought I should’ve addressed that first. I was pretty quick with @askaritobard cause I had an idea of what to write, but with @asksakitherito I actually took a long while before I responded lol.
I am so behind on asks 😭😭 but I’m trying not to rush them because I want to put more time into planning the drawings and answer thoughtfully (though I am a terrible writer, I only know how to draw 😂😂). Currently have 3 manga oneshots in the works for this blog (and other projects unrelated to this blog) but things keep happening so quick here that it’s hard for me to keep up 🫠🫠
I hope my lack of activity with the other blog runners and askHarth doesn’t come off as me isolating them or anything. I don’t take any of the stuff happening here personally, since it’s all just for fun. Still new to engaging with fandom and stuff, so if I misstep or offend someone please let me know!
Thanks for the ask!! :DDD

If I may, Saki—
My dear nameless friend, if your intentions are truly what you say they are, it sounds like there are two specific people you need to make amends with, and I believe you already know who they are...you've mentioned both by name, after all.
Ms Saki, I claimed Mr Harth said all the Rito were ashamed of Revali. But I realized that was false. He never said that. I told you a lie. I think I might of made things worse because I jumped the gun. What can I do to fix this?
It was a simple mistake, you need not worry.

Oh my, perhaps I do need spectacles! I could have sworn Cree poofed into a man in red resembling a pineapple...and gone now. This darned device better not be malfunctioning again.
I'm sorry to hear that Master Revali is in such a rush. You be good now, honey. Honey? Cree? Now where did...ah well, absent-minded as ever, I suppose.

Cree dear, you know you're not supposed to use the Pad without your mother's supervision. It takes a while for Link to recharge the batteries, and we want to be courteous of his time.
Also, my screen's resolution might not be the best, but aren't those your baby clothes? And weren't you supposed to be going apple picking with the others?
