Hey Vincent, is there anything you find challenging or a bit of a pain to draw?. For me it's anatomy.

I do have issues with faces at times. Getting things proportional isn't easy. That's why I tend to paint a lot of flowers and scenery.

If I paint a person I need them there in front of me for me to draw. It's so hard to do it from memory 😔

I am such a fan of your art that I painted and drew your Starry Night. I do them when I want to practice or just don't know what to draw/paint. I made the sketch while visiting a friend in the hospital and gave it to them as a gift. (I swear make no profit off of these all rights reserved to the og artist. I would never steal from the man I love.)

How to stop being a perfectionist so I can improve my drawing skills?

Whenever I draw something and I don't like it, or I think it looks absolutely terrible, or when I'm following along to a tutorial and my drawing doesn't end up looking the way it does in the tutorial, I end up losing motivation and stop drawing for a while.

It's frustrating because I want to improve my art but at the same time, it's like I'm beating myself up over not being able to draw what I want.

Do you sometimes have this issue? If so, what do you do?

You have to be bad at something before you're good at something. If it is your first time doing something you can't expect it to look perfect.

Even if you don't like it, you should finish it, you can't get better if you don't follow through

I didn't start painting until I was in my 20s. I was first an art dealer and I decided to become a painter because I thought it looked easy

It wasn't. People didn't like how I did things. I dropped out of school... three times.

My favorite painting of mine is the one I called Potato Eaters. I painted 50 portraits on their own to get ready for the painting, I chose four of my best ones to put in that painting and you know what I was told?

It looked awful and it's actually one of my worst paintings...

Sometimes perspective matters too.

I've been told I'm not a real artist for different reasons. But I enjoyed painting so I didn't let any of it stop me and I got better and better and improved my skill.

But with the tutorial.. remember the person on the other side has been doing this longer, they aren't a beginner. They are doing a tutorial because they know they can.

So draw what you want even if it looks bad. Then draw it again.. and again..and again. It will get easier and you will see yourself improve. I promise 💛💛

Do you ever just have a personal art project that you really wanted to finish, but you can't because you got other planned works?

Currently trying to finish up two fan arts and mentally punching myself because I have other ideas I want to do. It's a mess of emotions let me tell you...

Still trying to finish my writing stuff too. 😭😭😭😭

For the most part I really only work on one painting at a time. I don't like having more than one project going on at a time so I always tend to finish one before starting another.

I really hope you are able to finish what you want. I am a little glad all I do is paint. I imagine having multiple hobbies can be difficult, not knowing which one you want to do

you are a huge inspiration for me but… would it be weird if i got something of yours tattooed as a reminder for it?

It's going very well actually! It amazes me how I have a whole museum for myself, and that my art is even all over the world. I would have never thought people would enjoy it THIS MUCH. It made me cry a little when I first learned it. I didn't believe it at first to be honest.

You would want a tattoo? Of my art? The thing that will be permanently on you?? I WOULD BE HONORED. And I would LOVE to see it too!
