Joe sneaks into the location after hours to leave purple hydrangeas and a note, by using a universal key. Perks of being a higher up. The note reads:

Hey, Steven.

I wanted to apologize for earlier. I lost control of my emotions and acted unsightly of a father and a manager. I never wanted to do that to you, and I'll never try anything of the sort going forward.

Someone told me you liked hydrangeas, specifically purple ones, so I got some for you, to show I care and that I actually mean what I say.

P.S: Harry is sorry, as well. Whether or not you were his son, I don’t think he would've acted differently. It is policy to send employees who die on premises to the factory anyway. His reasoning may have been different, but I don’t think the outcomes of any kind would have changed.
