My better-half Dr Bharati proactively initiated a chain of events by e-mailing our Municipal Commissioner Shri I.S.Chehel, that inspite of registering as per the IMA protocol, both of us had not received any intimation regarding COVID-19 Vaccination. Next day - on 22nd January, she received her Regn number and invite for the vaccine. I followed suit and got vaccinated on 23rd January 2021. Bharati had headache and fever that lasted for about 3 days. I had only minimal discomfort at the Vaccination site- on the left deltoid (shoulder region). Today I proactively went to Bhabha hospital though no invite had come from MCGM even after 29 days of the 1st dose of Covishield vaccine and got vaccinated aided by my effective communication and the good Karma of my brother in law Dr Ulhas M. Nadkarni MD. He had retired from Bhabha Hospital after serving as an Honorary Consultant for almost 3 decades. Its been 4 hours and no side-effects so far. Go for it friends. Trust in our scientists, our Vaccine producers, our doctors, nurses and paramedics; and everyone even remotely connected with this humongous Vaccination exercise Bharati is going for her 2nd Covishield shot tomorrow. You too should confidently take the vaccine when your turn comes. But even after getting vaccinated continue to abide by the 3 COVID-19 commandments to Be safe, to continue to remain safe and to keep your family and our fellow countrymen and women remain safe.from SARS - CoV - 2.
