Here's a summary of the events of the last couple of weeks in Lebanon. My friend whose family is in the South has summarized what's been happening and I think she explains it better than I could:

"Basically israeli army was supposed to withdraw 60 days following tbe ceasefire. They didn't, they want an extension and it seems our government accepted it. Our resistance (Hezbollah) is not in a position to respond because the government is attacking them, the international community is attacking them and unless we want a civil war it's not a good option (at least until 'extension' expires bc they want to give room to the government to work and also prove that the government can't do shit in front of israel). All the places that the IOF couldn't enter when Hezb was fighting they were roaming freely during those 60 days. Anyways. Post 60 days, the people of Jnoub (the South) had enough and they said we are returning even if we are killed. Last week we had over 22 martyrs and 80 injuries on Sunday. But they succeeded, they returned to a lot of places. This week again, they are going back and forcing the Lebanese army to advance in the places where they should be advancing to. There was a woman who stood with 7 shrapnel [pieces] in her body in front of the [israeli] tank and she didn't move until the Lebanese army forced her to. The husband of my aunt was shot with an explosive bullet in the shoulder and it came out of his neck, but he's okay."

What's happening in Lebanon shouldn't be ignored or forgotten.

i don't think white able bodied queers really grasp how impossible it is to flee or immigrate as a disabled person especially as someone on ssi or disability. canada, new zealand, and australia have banned disabled immigrants and many more make it very difficult. as fascism starts to spread across europe, immigration even legal will become so much harder. don't tell us cripples to leave as if we haven't thought of that. we are legitimately trapped in this country and even our state no matter how hostile it becomes to us. i wish you would at least listen to us instead of ignoring our very rational objections. i am white but i assume the same thing goes for poc trying to immigrate to racist hostile countries. we have nowhere to go.

PSA for leftists who drive

As much as I appreciate the sentiment and boldness, you should NOT under ANY CIRCUMSTANCES put blatant ACAB (and general far left) bumper stickers on your car. You WILL be pulled over for a bullshit reason, and if you are pulled over for a legitimate reason you'll likely be arrested OR WORSE instead of just being written a ticket or a warning. Doubly so if you're a poc and/or visibly queer (ESPECIALLY transfems & people read as transfems).

I've been victim to police brutality on two separate occasions, in one of which I was nearly shot because my car window was broken and couldn't roll down. For your safety, you should do everything in your power to avoid provoking cops when you are in a situation where you are alone with them.

i just need everyone to understand why no one takes vote scolding seriously and why there is so much animosity towards Joe Biden and the Democrats from those on the left who hold him responsible for not only failing to address the self inflicted "immigration crisis," but blatantly giving in to baseless Republican fear-mongering re: rising immigrant crime.

they quite literally provided an even more cruel foundation for Trump to build on, and due to this, they can no longer make a genuine claim to be pro-immigration.

by this i mean they normalized the narrative so much that the Democratic party has totally shifted it's view on immigration, leading TODAY to the bipartisan celebration and passage of the horrifying Laken Riley Act, which Trump will likely sign as his first piece of legislation. this bill, among other terrible shit, effectively eliminates due process for immigrants and threatens it for everyone.

this is why no one listened to your vote scolding then. this is why no one listens to you now while you join Democrats in blaming third-party voters, Palestinians, transgender people, and leftists for an entire political party's failure to sufficiently address people's rapidly declining material conditions. this is why no one will listen to you in the future while you sit on the sidelines yelling cynical platitudes at people working to actually make the world better.

It's still terrifying to me that it wasn't enough for people that Palestinians were human beings. That - for many - the only way we could get people to take action and care about our genocide is if we relayed to you how some of us are similar to you in some ways. Look! Some of us are trans, queer, disabled, autistic, etc... everything under the sun that we managed to find that could make you care about us.

It wasn't enough that there was a group of human beings rounded up and locked in an open air prison behind massive impenetrable walls while being starved, bombed, and sniped 24/7. This is an atrocity the likes of which is not happening anywhere else in the world. And yet instead of people's horror at something atrocious happening to human beings we had to market ourselves to you for maximum palatibility and relatability for some of you to take action. It makes me sick to think about for too long. It feels violating and degrading and dehumanizing. Genuinely for me there is no bigger indictment of liberal identity politics than this.

If 'leftists' can't find it in themselves to care about the most simultaneously persecuted, surveilled, and heavily bombed population on the planet unless enough of them identify with labels appealing enough to a Western 'leftist' audience, it is a demonstration of how much Western 'leftism' amounts to nothing but self-serving feel-good, vibes-based politics.
