How it feels when I’m writing and I realize I’ve set up a compelling storyline that fits perfectly into the themes of the story completely unintentionally

DNF: 4 books
1. A scatter of light by Malinda lo
Didn’t like the NSFW picture storyline. Feels pointless and disconnected from the rest of the story. I feel the story didn’t need it.
2. Infinity by sherrilyn kenyon
Felt the action happened to soon.
To many creatures and stuff being introduced at once.
Wasn’t that interested.
3. Infinity son by Adam silvera
Didn’t like the characters and there backstories to much. (It felt stereotypical and didn't do its own spin on the stereotype) or the story itself all that much.
4. Only a monster by Vanessa len
Couldn't get into it for some reason

this year, my New Year resolves to read at the very least 100 books and to also keep track of how much I read. I’ll be trying to document everything here and show you the journey of my reading goal
I will list the books that I’ve read I might rank from 1/10. maybe an explanation maybe not.
I’m also allowed to re-read a book from last year. however I can’t count it on my book count more than once.
I will also tell you the books that I DNF’ed and a small explanation on why I don’t want to finish them.
I just wanna see how far I’ll go and encourage people to try to do the same this year

A feature that I would like to see Audible add is being able to block authors so that you don’t get recommended their books at all.
For example, I don’t want to read any of J. K. Rowling‘s books because of you know what. However, I read a lot of fantasy books so I get recommended her books a lot. I would like the recommendations to stop. So I would block JK and never see any of her books on the platform
It’s just something that would be nice. So I don’t have to check the authors and skip the authors that I hate.
I’ve probably mentioned this before

My review of
Dear evan hansen by Steven levenson
This it’s more of a backstage look I to how the musical Dear Evan Hansen came to be. It tells every step and it’s very interesting to see how things like this get made.
I read this because I watched the musical not to long ago and wanted to read the book and saw this. I like seeing the process on musical making. If was kind an inspiring ash someone who have motible I finished stories and it’s nice to have and idea that the could come to be.!
I would read this of you love Dear Hansen or if you want you write your own musical and want to see how musicals come to be.
All on all 5/10

saying “audio books isn’t reading” is an ableist statement. Doesn’t matter your reasons why it’s isn’t.

if you're trying to get into the head of your story's antagonist, try writing an "Am I the Asshole" reddit post from their perspective, explaining their problems and their plans for solving them. Let the voice and logic come through.

Possibly unpopular opinion
I don’t like the best sellers list
Everytime I’m reading a summery of a book and it gives me all the accomplishments of the author and how they were on the best sellers list I ignore it.
Getting on that list doesn’t tell me your book is worth reading
That list doesn’t tell me you’re a good writer
All it does is that you book got bought a lot.
Don’t get me wrong it’s a huge accomplishment for authors to get on the best sellers list specially if they’re indie.
But everyone seems to be on the best sellers list. It doesn’t tell me much about the authors works. there have been so many trash books in the past that have been on the best sellers list.
People treat that if a book is on the best sellers list it’s a good book which isn’t true.
It’s a list of sales not a list of greatness.

Instead of just saying, “She was sad,” let your readers feel it through the details. Is she staring out the window while it rains, her favorite song playing quietly in the background? Maybe she’s avoiding eye contact, or she can’t stop fidgeting with her phone. These little moments do more to show what’s going on inside than straight-up telling us she’s upset.

Want your readers to totally fall for your characters? Show them at their weakest, most vulnerable moments. It’s not just the epic, brave stuff that sticks with people, it’s those quiet, super raw scenes that hit hardest. Maybe your character is sitting in their car crying after a bad day, or they’re confessing a secret they’ve buried deep for way too long. Those messy, human moments are the ones where your readers will be like, “Wow, I’ve totally felt that.” That’s how you make your characters unforgettable, by making them real.
