BLOG POST 3:
I decided to choose the topic of the most “famous solved” murder cases for this blog post because it directly opposes and counters my previous blog post which was “cold cases or unsolved murders.” For this post I decided to focus on tow different cold cases that were solved, the first is the murder of Ranya Rison whose body was found in a pond by a fisherman. This case was solved due to a witness coming forward saying he helped with disposing of the body when his friend initially killed her. The second cold case is the murder of Maria Ridulph who was a seven year old girl who was found chocked and stabbed. This case became solved when the murderers mother came forward years later saying she covered up her son by giving the police a false alibi.
For the topic that is adjacent to my original idea (cold cases/murders) I decided to choose, unsolveable occurrences or some of the most famous unsolved questions in history. When looking up this question I thought it was interesting to see all of the different categories that were completely unrelated. “Who was Jack The Ripper?” I think it is interesting that this was one of the first things to pop up since it relates to my second blog post. Another is “Who killed JFK?” which is also related to my blog post being that it is a cold case essentially. Another one is “Who was the Zodiac Killer?” I love that these showed up under the most “unsolevable occurrences” and are still related to my original topic. I feel as though I could make the worlds largest diagram that starts to stem from my topic which I find really interesting.

Something that I have found to be compelling recently is the idea of cold cases that are associated with unsolved murders. Their are two distinct cases that I was drawn too a year or two ago that I still would love to research and learn more about which would be the JonBenét Ramsey case and the case of The Black Dahlia. Both are two horrific cases that have little evidence and leads and our highly complex with how the killers got away with what they did. The victims also died in disturbing ways which also makes me curious about the psychological aspects of these particular killers and why they went through with what they did and if they felt any type of remorse.
