This was the last video shown at ACAD’s Ottawa International Animation Festival 2014 showing tonight and everyone was in absolute stitches I’m pretty sure most of us were expecting a “Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared” type twist but it still caught us completely off guard

Okay now, I'm not autistic, but I have had to deal with sensory overload and borderline overload since I had my car accident and trying to find something to accurately portray what I'm feeling (and therefore giving me something to reference in my own work) has been rather difficult.  There was an episode of American Dad where Stan was going through withdrawl that got it pretty good but this is way better, and way better to look at too

Oops - Pencil Test 2

OKAY so a while ago I did Oops - Pencil Test and thought that was that, it was just a silly little doodle I did while waiting to get the supplies for my actual project.

Wrong.

Apparently.

My instructor wanted me to go back and revisit it, make it work with my ideas sort of thing.  Soooo, I've expanded on it.  What was once only 51 images is now 109 and about twice as long as the original and there is still more stuff to come.  And I have right around a month to get it all done.

My first proper animation and wowee wow there's a lot of stuff wrong but I'm just happy it moves.  Since this was just an experiment that more or less took on a life of it's own, I don't plan on going back in and reworking it.

Walking by Ryan Larkin

This idea is really interesting to me...I've mentioned working on an "animated self" portrait and I really dig that this guy made an entire film just about the nuances in how people walk and stand.  I like the use of animation as a way to glorify an every day thing, similar to painting genre scenes and such.

Okay but the other day I was feeling kind of crappy and was thinking about Serpent being all clingy to Lee because Lee is an actual real live brother and this is his chance to finally have a family, and for some reason I had the image of Serpent being able to fold his limbs in strange ways and he would constantly drape himself over Lee.  For some reason the next image that came to mind was that of Rapunzel being scared by a rabbit  and it was all downhill (uphill??) from there.  

In any case, it made me feel quite a bit better.

I honestly have no idea what spooked him though...
