Hypocrisy of TUA part 1
I'm truly FEED up with this BULLSHIT, everyone going after Five & Lila and hating on them for NO real reason, yes I SAID it NO real valid reason.
Five & Lila did NOT have an affair, Lila was SEPARATED from Diego VERBALLY BEFORE she got lost for 7 freaking YEARS.
they thought that timeline was GONE for good, to them the world ended and they were the only ones left, they developed a stronger friendship over the years and FELL IN LOVE, they did NOT anything wrong.
accusing Lila of cheating after literally 6 YEARS of being SEPARATED from marriage wise and physically wise from her "husband" is RIDCLOIUS, because:
There are actual laws states that if a spouse goes missing for 5-6 years, then said spouse e is considered DEAD therefore the other spouse is considered a WIDOW.
so she's widow as far as she knows, so stating that a widowed woman is cheating on her husband is just simply wrong statement.
THE TRUE HYPOCRISY
is the FACT that when Sissy a white woman who is MARRIED (Sissy) and HAS A CHILD had a REAL AFFAIR with Vanya/Viktor at her HUSBAND'S HOUSE, in HIS OWN BED after just a MONTH & HALF and she was in FACT STILL MARRIED to said husband, she was NOT separated like Lila was from Diego (yes verbally COUNTS here considering the situation they were going through, a paper isn't more important than a woman's own agency)
YET everyone LOVED Sissy & Viktor/Vanya as a couple, showed nothing but SUPPORT, LOVE and ADMERATION for it despite the FACT it being 100% REAL AFFAIR.
so to all of sudden TUA has some kind of morality and has an issue with infidelity when it's about a widowed/separated woman, it's NOT at all about morality and everything to do with being anti WOC, because a white woman is allowed & supported to have an affair YET a WOC is SHAMED for having a relationship after 6 YEARS of SEPRATION.
BEFORE everyone comes at me that Carl was an "evil" or "bad" man, he had it coming, 1) he's the reason Vanya/Viktor was able to survive peacefully for a month & half in 60's, hate him all you want, call him all the names you want, but he gave her/him home, safety without payment. 2) if you hate Carl for being who he is and think he had it coming then it also should apply to Diego, because he's basically Carl 2.0 but it's WORSE with Diego because he's a modern man with old mindset.
Diego's actions, behavior and mindset are the actions, behavior and mindset of men in 1960's, he’s basically Carl Cooper (Sissy’s husband from S2) a lesser version but a version of him none the less.
1) Diego: put all the responsibility of the house, the children and the marriage on Lila’s shoulders all by herself. Carl: did the same with Sissy with their house, marriage and child, though he was more absent from his son because he couldn’t connect with him. (which btw is normal 60's wise, autism wasn't diagnosoied yet and he cared enough to try and help him when he was suffering Vanya/Viktor's pain, while Sissy literally did nothing)
2) Diego: is annoyed by the help Lila gets aka Lila’s family. Carl: was annoyed by Vanya/Viktor. they're the ones who are actually helping in raising the children since they're too busy drowning in self pity.
3) Diego: did NOT pay any attention/NOR care to Lila or how she EXHAUSTED looked 24/7, how OVERWHELMED she was until she picked the "wrong" pinata , then instead of talking to her, he followed her around. Carl: did not see nor care how exhausted Sissy was with Harlan, and only noticed her when she acted little differently and he too followed her around instead of talking to her.
4) Diego and Carl worked jobs that they hated then deflecting on the wives and guilt tripping Lila and Sissy about providing them home and nice life when questioned if they want to actually participate more at home or marriage.
Carl to Sissy : " depends on how hard they make me work to provide you with this wonderful life"
Diego to Lila : " I mean that's good to know that the life we built is so bad". "someone's gotta show up for this marriage because it sure as hell ain't you"
this the kind of physiological maneuver both men use on their wives when asked simple question such as "what time you will be back from work?" (Sissy asking Carl)
or Lila being honest with Diego about how she feels, and honest about her needs.
a maneuver in which it absolves them of any shortcomings from them, and blaming the women for their own shortcomings.
Lila & Sissy
1)Lila: knew and felt the need to hide her job/investigation a secret from Diego because she KNEW he wouldn’t approve , he would have a problem with it, which he had an issue with it, to him it was worse than cheating. Sissy: hid the cigarettes from Carl, kept her dream of working in a shop hidden from him because she knew he wouldn’t approve, that he would've an issue with it.
2)Lila and Sissy were NOT physically comfortable to be touched by their husband/ex-husband who all of sudden decided to actually show some affection after months/years of not showing any and both husbands were TOO busy fulfilling their own needs they did NOT notice, how uncomfortable and unwanted the physical advances were.
3)Lila and Sissy have felt TRAPPED in the marriage, not necessarily missing out on their dreams/adventures that they're not living/missing out on (even though it might seem as such on a surface level) however they are TRAPPED by the men in their lives.
Lila: "I'm just trapped in this unending suburban hellscape"
Sissy: " do you know what it's like being when you have a man who can't see you....your life gets small, a little smaller everyday, and you don't even notice the box that you're in...until comes along and let's you out"
both felt they were trapped in a small box where their whole world only revolved around children (they love) and men who can NOT SEE them. men who can NOT appreciated them at all.
Sissy fulfilled her needs by having an AFFAIR with Vanya/Viktor, she found everything she needs with her/him and she was supported by the fandom, celebrated even.
Now Lila on the other hand fulfilled her need to be seen as more than a mother/wife by WORKING, by INVESTIGATING, by working with Five to help save the world yet again, and she was SHAMED for it by Diego and by the whole fandom
her relationship with Five did NOT factor into Diego & Lila's marriage (unlike Carl & Sissy's marriage) that came much later after YEARS of her marriage had ALREADY FALLEN a part.
YET the WOC gets NOTHING but hatred from TUA even though in FACT, she did NOT cheat on her husband and had a relationship after YEARS her marriage was ended
the white woman gets CELEBRATED, SUPPORTED and loved for having a REAL AFFAIR.
it's 2024 and women are STILL BLAMED for men's shortcomings and accused of "crimes"/sins they haven't actually committed.

"Five would never stop trying to save the world"
"Five's only goal is to stop the apocalypse and save his family"
"Five was so out of character this season"
Five's entire arc in season three is him coming to terms with the fact that he's tired, worn out and ready to retire but is constantly forced into the hero role against his will.
Five was willing to let the Kugelblitz destroy the universe and kill his family, but was forced to save it anyway.
I imagine the only reason Five joined the CIA to begin with was because he wasn't able to find peace in that new timeline because he knew something was wrong and if he couldn't make a peaceful life for himself he might as well fill it with something.
But when he finds safety and peace with someone who is probably the only other person truly able to understand his circumstances and why he is the way he is? Of course he wants to fight for that. Of course he wants to preserve that little bit of joy in any way he can, because his year with Lila in the greenhouse was the closest thing to a normal, happy life Five has ever had. He made a huge error by hiding the cypher and keeping her there, but that just adds to the tragedy of his situation. That this one book was the difference between him having peace with the person he loves, or going back to the thing he has cursed his entire life: saving the universe.
And when he gets back, he can't even do that.

𐙚OFFICIAL FIVELA PLAYLIST
Aidan just released his playlist for Five & Lila, the one he used to study the character!
There are soo many good songs there, I love his musical taste! There's even a Brazilian one! Tell me you opinions about the playlist!
(I'm myself an actress and from Brazil, please, understand my excitement! ♡ I love my country and I love with all my heart to observe behind the scenes and the work process of an actor!).

Five Hargreeves and the expectations that comes with being the "favorite character".
S4 is the season that we got the most holes in the storyline, lack of explanation and even the erasure of existence of all Hargreeves, but definetly what shocked the audience the most was Five behaviour and his, until now, unknow tendencies of homewrecking.
I am not here to judge him, neither to defend, but to say what i have been seeing of the fans reactions and I got to say... Some of y'all claim to be his fans, but wish him a miserable life.
"BUT IT WAS SO OOC, S1 FIVE WOULD NEVER DO THIS!"
Yes, he would not, but a If there is something the show it's trying to show since s3 it's how tired Five it's from apocalypses, failed tentatives to save the world, having to save his siblings asses all the time, getting blamed about every bad thing that happend and never getting showed any appreciation with honorable exceptions of Klaus and Diego.
Five changed, pretty much like everyone, due to all his emotional baggage, which happens to be a bit bigger than the others cause of his age and the fact the his entire life was just chaos and loneliness.
The thing is, yes, Five would do anything for his family and that's what he has been doing for the last 45 years, even with little to no recognition. Unfortunately, all this loyalty placed him into a pedastal that it's dificult to keep up.
I even saw some people saying that "normal Five" would have gone to the train station by himself to not put anyone in danger. So that's what you want for him? To get stucked AGAIN completly alone for another 7 years of his life?
I saw people saying "How could he do that with Dolores?" Like, seriously? As much as i liked that whole mannequin- human romance, it's time for y'all to accept that Dolores is to Five what that volleyball ball was to Tom Hanks in Cast Away. Just a coping mechanism to not get crazy in a devasted world by himself, but that was not love.
You guys really think that his entire life it's suppost to just be there for his siblings and holding a mannequin when times get lonely, and that's it? How fucking depressing is that?
And not that being there for his siblings it's a bad thing, but then again, why it gotta be his responsability, always? Besides, when Will someone else be there for him too? I guess that's why he fell for Lila in that moment. She was febre for him as much as he was there for her.
And to be honest, a big part of me it's glad, that even for once, he decided to be selfish. For once he choose to allow himself to be in a calm and peaceful place not constantly worring about his siblings or the future of earth. He loved a real person and was loved back by them. He finally had the opportunity of trying to live as fully normal person, what he never had the chance before. It was a breath of fresh air that he deserved.
I know that Lila was definetly not the right person to have these amazing last moments with, but i am sure that If they had more seasons, they would come up with some new character to fill that up.
And even being Lila, It still made sense. In that moment, with that conection and after all they lived together, It still made all the sense.
The only thing that hurts me about this whole situation, it's that It literally costed his relationship with Diego and they stop existing without talking It out, cause there was no time for It (Steve Blackman, i hate you for this).
It's bittersweet, indeed, and just shows that he can't really have it all, but at least he got some moments of peace in this earth before getting ceased forever.

Am I the only one that thinks that maybe the bracelet scene with diego is on purpuse by the writers to show the disconnect between Lila and Diego.
My theories:
1. Shows Diego disconnect to what she likes and doesnt. Lila doesnt seem to be someone that likes jewellery, She kept diegos 1st bracelet because he made it and it had emotional value and traded the other because it had no value to her.
2. Shows lila disconnect because his gifts dont mean as much to her anymore so she can easily trade it.
3. Diego not understanding her needs. She might see it as wasting their money because there are other things that would make her life much easier (like a new vacuum)
4. Most important this whole scene might be there to show the viewers that she loves five as much as she loved Diego in the begin.
But what do I know ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As much as you guys hate to admit it, the Five and Lila pairing makes sense and was not at all utter bullshit as you guys are making it seem.
From the time Lila was introduced, she came in as a strong character that's wild, sexy, fun, and a bit deranged. She's a badass character! And what happens? She meets Diego in a point in her life where she was at the height of chaos and adventure. They fall in love, or in a toxic situationship filled with family drama and mother/father issues.
Now let's look at Five. His situation is overall fucked. Imagine being some kid that grew up with space/time travel powers and getting stuck in time, having to grow up pretty much before all of his siblings, and then having to come back in his KID body and still have to fix THEIR problems on top of dealing with his own mental issues that he acquired and loneliness. Reminder that he would not have had a partner due to his inconvenient life/appearance.
Lila and Diego are in this marriage with kids after trying to live a "normal" life. Lila feels stuck because she basically trauma bonded with some guy that happened to be there and was able to put up with her issues and vice versa. Diego was convenient. And from what I see, she really just wanted to make a family she didn't have. Their relationship is kinda out of obligation for their kids at this point, and neither of them are happy.
At this point, Five and Lila get stuck in time together after having previously been on opposite sides but coming together for family sake. From the beginning they matched each other's energy and even I would say they complement each other. They both have explosive personalities filled with sarcasm, snark, and a bit of humor. They both enjoy danger and a rough tussle. That's all they have known.
At this point, both Five and Lila have experienced so much in their lives, so much adventure already. They are ready to settle down, because sometimes love is the adventure you're looking for in this crazy world.
And look I get it. Badass lady is reduced to housewife trope that shouldn't exist unless within character. But can we really say this is out of character for Lila? She always does the unexpected, so her going off to be a spy is what we would expect, for her and Five.
And I also get that you guys think that Five would never betray his family like that. This isn't a perfect world and neither are these characters. If anything, we've seen Five do things for his own self interest over what the family/others want. Same for Lila.
Add in the loneliness of DECADES from Five and the trapped loneliness Lila feels within her marriage, and the fact they they go on another mission together over SEVEN years, mixed with their explosive dynamic and you have a pairing.
And explosion seems to be the theme for this season right? With Ben and Jennifer. Sometimes 2 exlosive chemicals become more stable rather than creating a blast. And maybe each other is what Five and Lila needed. They both understand each other in ways Diego could never understand Lila. Lila also understands Five's predicament like no other, having lived it first hand with him in the Seven years. It's only natural that they would come together. Lila and Diego were eventually going to divorce because they weren't compatible. Lila has always had the most chemistry with Five.
I get the cheating and in no way do I excuse it, but these characters have no idea when they will ever get back home and if. I think they would go absolutely crazy if they didn't have each other. In this time, they realized how similar they are and ended up being a better match. They found what they were looking for in each other. And you can't deny their connection like come on.
In my experience, in the real world, love is messy and not perfect. Sometimes finding love is your next adventure after you've live a life like no other. Maybe this will be good for them.
Also, they writers arent crazy or out of pocket, you guys just need to grow up.

Honestly, I think most people are upset mainly because they liked when Five was just a sarcastic killer who didn't want to show his feelings. The same experience as with Loki, literally.

so sick of all you "my five/s1-3 five would've never done this!"
sure.
your five, who attempted to save the world numerous times, dedicated his entire life to it, and who was TIRED from all these useless attempts, where everytime HE would fight the hardest and still somehow fail and disappoint everyone he loved-
(and in the end, learned that there's no point or way, and has to sacrifice his family, all that he knew and loved for the world to actually be saved);
you "diehard fans" are bashing him for losing hope, after he
once again, ended up stuck for 7 years in an "apocalypse", a never ending cycle of trial and error; with no proof he could ever go back to any of his desired realities where he could see his loved ones, or proof they still even exist;
your five that has the most fucked up perception of love (mind you, he fell in love with a mannequin because it was his only company), happened to have ONE shoulder to lean on during this time, and he took it. he was once again stuck for years, just like the first time. with only one person, lila. he grew to trust lila, he grew to love lila. they've made it to a timeline where everything was quiet, and safe. they made it to a reality where five didn't have to fight for him and his loved one's lives. he found a reality where he wouldn't have to sacrifice anyone, and where he doesn't have to disappoint his loved ones again. and he wanted to stay there with her, ensuring lila that safety, and providing his love.
TL;DR?
so how surprised can you guys be? that he gave up? that he fell in love, for he was stuck for years with no hope or proof his family was still there, waiting? after years of failing and disappointing everyone- he found a reality in which he didn't have to run, or fight. he found a reality in which he can love and truly protect. he fell in love again because someone cared for him when he needed it most.
we've always known five for value-ing love. love for his family, love for delores. he fell for delores because she was the only one by his side. use your brains. please.

The useless people clearly did not understand the purpose of the romantic arc of five. What it really means for him to live things he never experienced in his life, after facing so many traumas since childhood

TUA s4 spoilers
People complaining about season 4 of TUA like it isn't the most realistic and human season of the whole damn show.
Viktor not wanting to leave his bar at first because he knows that coming back will just end badly. Because it always ends badly.
Ray leaving Allison after she went through so much bullshit to get him and Claire in the same timeline is some karma if I've ever seen it.
Klaus knowing that when he gets his powers back he won't remain sober because he can't. He can't live with the voice. He can't live with the pain. He can't do any of it if he's sober because it's live his life riding one high to the next, or kill himself trying.
Luther having no place in life. Having to make his own way, even if it was stupid of him to become a dancer, it's all he was able to do.
Ben ending up in jail because he's violent and thrives on chaos and never truly got have a life full of anything other than that.
Diego and Lila having massive marriage issues because they never got to live normal lives. Because they are adrenaline and choas junkies and refused to be put down. Except they had to be. For Gracie and the twins. Which caused massive issue with eachother because they couldn't be who they truly wanted without having complaints.
Five becoming a CIA agent and being an agent at 19 because that's all he's used to. Because he's lived his whole life that way. Alone. Fighting for his life. Undercover. Five having no place in the world other than that.
Five and Lila having an affair because he's spent his entire fucking life alone and hasn't managed to find anyone yet. Five knowing what he's doing is wrong and that it will end his relationship with Diego but still doing it anyways because he wants to be selfish for once in his life. Lila not caring because she's slowly losing hope of ever seeing her kids again. Knowing that even if she does go back, she only will stay with Diego for the kids. Because she wants them to have parents, good ones, that her and Diego never got.
They were all human.
This is human.
Season 4 was the most realistic shit I've seen on Netflix in a long fucking time. And yall need to grow the fuck up about it.

What Aidan said on Patreon about fivelila and the program:
●fivelila
X: Aidan, What was the most difficult scene for you to film in season 4?👀
Aidan:
I think the kiss...it was hard to make it real. I really had to let go of myself and be Five. It's really not easy to give a kiss and make it real. There's a lot of the relationship with Lila that we filmed but they cut it. It took weeks to film it and they used a few minutes in a montage. That wasn't right. It also made it very hard for viewers to believe when we spent weeks filming scenes to set up that scenario Ritu and I were there for weeks before someone else came to Canada to film our secret scenes first
There are also articles online that are not true. For example, David never had any problem with the romance between Lila and Five. Neither did Ritu. That's completely made up to attract clicks.
● umbrella academy
X: What was the most difficult thing for you recording the last season
Aidan:
Knowing it was the end
We also didn't know how it would end. Steve always hides the last script until the very end.
Steve basically wrote what he wanted and we were paid to do it.
No cast member has a vote on anything.
I would change it back to the original 10 episodes that Steve wrote.
When Netflix told him to cut it down to 6 episodes and remove all the expensive scenes, I'm sure that hurt the season a lot. It's like reading a well written story that has everything you ever wanted to explain about the show.
I mean, I understand that the show was no longer profitable, so it was a business decision.
We were lucky to be able to get a fourth season; it was actually a gift from Netflix to the fans because they didn't make any money on it
Actually, you should thank them for season 4. Any other network would have just cancelled the show. I heard they tried for years to fix the deal with UCP to make it profitable to move forward and UCP didn't do it.
OK, so UCP owns the show and struck a deal with Netflix to distribute it on their network. But with each season, the show cost Netflix more and more money from UCP. By season 4, it was no longer profitable
Anyway, I'm glad they made UA. It almost never got made. For years it was going to be a movie
