Ice cubes tinkled in your glass of iced tea as they succumbed to the midsummer night’s heat. The humid air clung to your skin like the condensation on your cup with beads of sweat dripping down your neck.  A forgivingly, cool breeze slid through your window like an arm beckoning you to grab onto its hand before kissing your skin in temptation. It was the perfect night out which was why you had given your parents’ the hottest tickets to a musical in town. All so you could be home alone with only four walls to hear your moans when you get fucked for the very first time.

You would’ve never been able to get your hands on such expensive tickets if it wasn’t for your big brother. He wasn’t your brother by blood but you longed to share the ichor that ran through his veins. He was blessed with immense talent in which his golden boy reputation shined whether it was in athletics, the arts or academics.

You always saw him as kin but wasn’t ignorant to the way others looked at him. People weren’t shy to tell you that they’d see him behind closed eyes whilst they touched themselves at night. You never minded that he overshadowed you. He was always there for you. His moonlit skin and starry eyes comfort you like a midsummer’s night.

However, it bothered you when people would only befriend you to get closer to your brother. You’d excitedly invite them over for a sleepover when all they wanted to do was sneak into your brother’s room and fuck him.

You’d apologise to him afterwards whilst curled up against him in bed. His metal rings kissing your skin where his palm rested on your thigh. His long, silky hair tickling your cheek as he murmured into your ear that it was alright.
