I'll be redesigning my 30-gallon aquarium soon. It's a tank full of rescued misfit fish; "misfishts." 🤣 The focal point of the tank is a large adult female angelfish that thinks she's a guppy. She was bullied so badly in her original tank that she couldn't even lay her eggs. She's since laid a few batches and is doing great. Because she was picked on, she's friendly with all the other fish. Her best frind is a telescope goldfish that follows her around. His eyes keep growing, but his body doesnt. He's only 1.5" long and looks ridiculous... Then there's a lone panda cory cat who doesn't like being around others, and two female platys that were being bullied. They're huge now, and look like balloon-bellied mollies bc they never stop eating! They're trying to make up for lost time and lost meals, I guess. 😂 I just got my tax return, so I'll be adding more Eco-Complete (substrate) and a few more plants, with perhaps a large piece of decorative wood. This is the "before" photo. 😊 I can't wait to get rid of all that hair algae! I just purchased an albino bristlenose pleco to help out with some of the algae.

Cleaning snake cages today. This is my baby girl, Harlette. (I didn't name her; she was a rescue and I never changed the name.) I've had her for about 12 years. I don't normally argue that snakes recognize their keepers, but I swear that this one does. There's no other way to explain some of her behaviors. 🤔 She's so different from all of my other snakes. Her favorite places to sit include the bridge of my nose (which terrifies most people) and the top of my head. Once she's in one of those places, she'll sit calmly for an hour if I let her. She was my very first snake and words cant even express how much she means to me. Three of my crabs eating and foraging in the moss pit last night. Half the time they'd rather eat the stuff in there than the actual food I give them! 🙄 I make (and sell) my own moss pit additives and mix-ins if anyone is interested! It consists of all kinds of goodies from native plants and wildflowers to oak leaves, fruit pieces, mineral powder, worm castings, and much more! I don't just keep arthropods, I also keep reptiles (as well as birds and about a million mammals 🙄). Today the hubby is giving Ida, a 15-foot lavender albino reticulated python a bath because she made a mess of herself. This guy spends a lot of time buried, so I'd forgotten how blue he is! At least compared to my other crabs, anyway. This little one is called "Skitch" because it was absolutely terrified of everything when it first came home. It actually dumped water out of it's shell on me one day, trying to get away from me, poor thing. It's calmed down so much, though! Now it comes right up to the glass and doesn't pull into its shell when I have to pick it up for tank maintenance or whatever. It's my only Ecuadorian crab and I think that makes it my favorite. (Dont tell the others -lol-) I need to sex it so I can give it a gender pronoun other than "it"... 🙄 P.S.- look at those long toenails! I love them!! #ecuadorianhermitcrab #hermitcrabs #crabitat

Skitch was out exploring again tonight. He's been SUPER active ever since I changed the main pool from fresh water into salt water; it seems like every time I look over at him now, he's exploring or investigating something! 😊 My hermit crabs had pork chops last night, thanks to my omnivorous boyfriend and his left-overs. 😋 ('m vegan...)
